In that theres the red flag BPA catchphrase "driving up standards"
And on another note, the Government looks set to drop the paywall for most land registry searches, which may have some useful side effects if trying to trace a landowner over a parking company's antics https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/mar/18/government-to-lift-paywall-from-large-parts-of-land-registry
From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"5 -
If the BPA/IPC were genuinely interested in the motorist (which they are definitely not), then they wouldn't have fought the Statutory Code and there would have been no need for their joint code which cherry picks the more favourable parts and leaves out the stuff that actually makes a difference.
Both organisations talk about improving standards whilst allowing their members free rein to continue their dubious operations.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'
Genuine, Free and Independent 247 Advice: 247advice.uk "The Gold Standard for advice on parking matters."8 -
NCP quoted as "largest car park operator" - but not the most pcn issuer according to a news item in Business Matters 16/3/26 which stated:-
"The five parking companies which issued 45 per cent of tickets between April and September last year were ParkingEye (1,129,000), Euro Car Parks (892,000), Horizon Parking (440,000), Smart Parking (424,000) and APCOA Parking (367,000)."

You are so right. These 2 so called ATA's are run by the parking companies and government should be aware of that. I include the dodgy legals and debt collectors
What sort of organisations would apply FAKE AMOUNTS ? The BPA and IPC of course
The BPA were complete fools to allow the OSNER SCAM to which the legals and debt collectors seem to think it is some sort of law when it's just a fabrication and a money scam. Of course most judges understand this and will not allow the fake scam. Let us hope that government fully understands this and the fake amount will be banned especially as we live in a cost of living crisis with money scammers just wanting to line their own from pockets adding to an over priced parking fee

Will be interesting to see how this pans out:
To improve transparency and accuracy of land ownership data, we will:
• Work with HM Land Registry this year to provide access to free, spatial land ownership data for larger properties covering the vast majority of England and Wales, excluding almost all homeowners.
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/69ba6ba026909a14239612e7/Land_Use_Consultation_Accessible.pdf
I must admit I'm not terribly sure what spatial land ownership is, or how that differs to other land ownership…

Spatial means the the maps and plans relating to the title.
For some uses this is far more important than the title number and ownership info.

Update: The council consulted in the autumn on proposed changes to its Off-Street Parking Order, which have now resulted in the car park returning to council control.
Cameras, signage and payment machines installed by the previous operator (Initial Parking) have been removed. Cornwall Council confirmed new machines are due to be installed ahead of parking charges being introduced in April.

ANPR was more of headache than a help
After a year of glitches, queues, and constant feedback from frustrated Folkestone locals the Sandgate Rd car park cameras are coming down.
Cllr Polly Blakemore, Cabinet Member for Transport, admitted this particular “new idea” simply didn’t make the grade.
She noted that the trial failed to meet the necessary standards for performance or reliability, and perhaps most importantly for the local taxpayer, it wasn’t cost-effective.
The planned rollout to other parts of the district have now been permanently shelved.

That's very telling.
PPCs don't care about glitches and queues because it enables PCN issuance.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
