There are 3 problems that will kill pubsCoupon-mad said:
Yep.patient_dream said:The BULL PUB will have a short life unless they get rid of parking company
I looked at their website and they have a big TV screen to show sports, they serve cooked food, they have an outdoor area and have a weekly quiz, and live music often. Every word on their website invites people to make an evening of it.
Twice a week they are open until midnight so are those wishing to meet friends, relax and 'make an evening of it' meant to ensure they don't arrive until 9.15 on those evenings? Impossible if you've booked a meal!
Patrons will have to leave early, citing the unworkable parking limit, or just boycott the place completely.
It's a recipe for disaster for the Bull Pub. Stonegate Group - you have been warned.
BIG MISTAKE.
THE GOVERNMENT
THE PARKING COMPANIES
IGNORANT PUBLICANS AND OWNERS
They are probably paid a percebtage of the ticket but that will not stop pubs going bust. The one sure thing is thar pubs who are sucked into the great parking scam will lose more business than their overdraft will take
Banks who give loan facilities to pubs should be aware that if a parking company gets involved, their funding is at grave risk simply because the public will not put up with such rubbish, nor should they
This is what they say on their website .....Bringing people together through our passion for great pubs, bars and venues.
WOW ? Having Rogue Traders in your car parks really does make your headline look pathetic
THEY SAY ....
We strongly believe that the pub is the heart of the British culture and we strive to deliver fantastic guest experience
SO THEY EMPLOY ROGUE TRADERS...... what is the guest experience when they face a £100 ticket
NO doubt the Stonegate Group will have a rude awakening in the not too distant future5 -
Private parking companies hit new record number of tickets issued to drivers this year
According to govt data 15.9 million pcns were issued to end of Sept 2025, a 17 per cent rise from the previous year.RAC head of policy Simon Williams said the increases demonstrate that 'something must be going badly awry' with the parking system, as the majority of motorists 'try very hard' to avoid tickets.5 -
The Battle between Improving Compliance and Reputational Harm: could issuing Warning Notices for first parking offences be a solution?
NO says Unity5.Apparently Warning Notices have been implemented by certain authorities in the past, and the primary opposition to their wider adoption is their perceived ineffectiveness.
With year on year increases in recorded numbers of costly pcns issued this surely demonstrates the ineffectiveness of this practice at improving driver parking compliance yet...there seems to be absolutely no opposition from the industry to this ineffective practice. Is this because pcns generate income for the industry whereas warning notices would cause a loss of income ??0
