Is it still a requirement to be SIA licenced for clamping?

From what ive seen on here and elsewhere, could there be something not quite right with the set-up at Nottingham park and ride sites regarding the use of a private company which keeps the "release" fees, and possibly why we dont see clamping help issues at railway sites ( also with bye-laws)

For anyone that didn't see in 2021 the DLUHC Committee question Andrew Pester BPA, Will Hurley IPC, Philip Boynes PE and Stewart Clure DRP it's still available to watch and/or read the transcript.

Hurley kept saying the landowner would lose .... LOSE WHAT, do the rogue traders pay the landowner to farm their property ?
The only loss would the retailers who pay rent to the landowner closing down or going bust because they have allowed ROGUE TRADERS TO OPERATE

Yep.

The recent rise in hidden AI CCTV issuing immediate PCNs to any vehicle seen is partly responsible for the huge rise in PCN numbers this year to 18 million (or whatever it was).

All of them are likely breaching the ICO's Surveillance Camera Code and the Data Protection Act because:

1. they are hidden, and

2. they are operating 24/7 at sites that could easily be run by a less data intrusive method.

"Councillor Stephen Fenton has contacted the landowner to ask them to suspend the issuing of fines so that there can be a review of the arrangements and changes made so that shopper are not unfairly penalised.

He said “Residents are understandably upset about being fined for supporting local businesses or just driving in and out of the car park having dropped someone off. 

“Many residents who have been fined have posted on social media that they are less likely to use these local shops if this carries on and I am therefore concerned that local businesses will suffer, which is the last thing we need."

#ANPR & CCTV in the hands of private parking firms: ruining proper businesses (shops) and wrecking any hope of a recovery of high streets.

Only mention on the signage is small print reference to "photographs" of "you and your vehicle", ANPR and an erroneous illustration of a public highway speed camera, not a CCTV camera.

I'm also guessing that "on the balance of probabilities" (one your favourite phrases!) that the CCTV is an anonymous black device on the building or high up on a metal pole. Certainly not highlighted by means of yellow colouration.
