    IMHO this'll likely be ParkingEye.
ECP seem to be Ms national preferred operator .... unless PE are muscling in? Not all thieves have honour!

Private Parking Firms - Killing the High Street

  • "Britannia Parking Group went to great lengths, investing over £5,000 in an attempt to pursue our former client, Mrs. Michelle Morris, for a mere £100 parking charge. However, their claim was promptly dismissed after it surfaced that they were endeavouring to enforce a concealed 10-minute payment rule."

Yet another one where ParkingEye and ANPR is ruining (long term disabled) patients' peace of mind at a Hospital:

    https://www.warwickshireworld.com/news/people/ps100-hospital-parking-fine-for-angry-rugby-woman-injured-in-hit-and-run-accident-4535853

"A woman injured in a drink drive hit and run incident is angry after being ordered to pay a parking fine at Rugby’s Hospital of St Cross.

Angela Burt, who needs regular trips to the hospital for physio and pain relief, said the machine was faulty and wouldn’t let her pay."

That naive journalist actually thinks "She now has to pay £100."

    Sigh... the victim says:

"Innocent people are being punished because of their faulty equipment. It’s just not fair. I’d hate anyone else to get caught out.

"The equipment was faulty and I looked for details on who to contact and couldn’t find any details. The ‘pay here’ sign is where I went to and I never really thought about other options. I did look for a phone number or button to press to speak to someone but there wasn’t anything, so that’s why I tried again and took the photos to prove I tried, but they still want me to pay.”

Shame in you, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Shame on you ParkingEye, who methinks doth protest too much: "we've got some signs up, and we're in the BPA, innit"

(NB: I am paraphrasing. Tongue in cheek).

The BPA must be so proud.

    Another article features ex-clampers UKPC:

    https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/retired-magistrate-who-stopped-spend-28705995.amp

Retired magistrate who stopped to spend a penny ends up with demand for £170

"Raymond Roberts was given a ticket by the same man who directed him to the toilets, his daughter said.  Ms Roberts claimed a man who gave her dad directions to a toilet was the person who issued him with the fine.

"My father has several health issues, one of them being that he needs to use rest rooms often. Once he realised how far KFC was from the car park he turned back and noticed a gentleman in a high viz jacket. My father approached the gentleman and asked if he could direct him the nearest public convenience."

She claims the man apologised and advised Mr Roberts how to appeal... "This has caused my father huge stress and anxiety. He is only just home from the hospital after a bad kidney infection which hospitalised him for six days."

    'Gentleman'?  Working for that bunch?!

    Shame on you, UKPC.

This is parking management is it, UKPC?

The BPA must be so proud.

  • This forum may not charge a fee but there is still a cost in terms of time, time that could be spent more productively,

Yes, a loophole may be identified to facilitate the theft of parking or parking somewhere you shouldn’t; however, the time spent dealing with it will more often than not far exceed the £60 Parking Charge.

So if someone intends to weasel out of a charge, they may as well pay someone a small fee as is more cost effective.
