Yes OP - it looks to me like Scottish Power (you might remember I mentioned they had form for this without realising that was who you were with, too!) have indeed managed to flip your rates.
Looks like your immersion heater setting has an option for a straight switch when the meter changes over - that is how ours works - the way it's set it literally only gets a feed when the E7 "cheap" rate is active. If we need a bit extra then we still have the option of the boost that bypasses that and allows a feed from the day rate - these days though that rarely gets used, oddly enough!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I would boost for a bath and it's been talked about a lot dishes are cheaper to boil a kettle for.
I know it seem archaic but the savings add up.0 -
Definitely not cheaper in my experience to use boost for a bath these days Mstty! Used to be, but not any more sadly.
Ours runs overnight. we can easily get general use during the day - a sink of water each for MrEH's shave/face washes for both of us in the morning, a full bowl for washing up, and still just about squeeze a bath out with the water remaining at a good temperature in the evening. That's from a not huge tank, well insulated though, and it will literally be running through cold by the time the bath fill is completed.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Research found washing "clean" hands (like after going to the loo) works just as well with soap and cold water as with warm/hot for killing germs. Warm water and soap is better if you've been gardening etc. If it's only the dishes, could you boil a kettle? Could then pop the water heater on for 15-20 mins only when you fancy a bath.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

I wouldn't have responded if they said baths every day👍
And they literally just want to wash dishes every day so there is a point to be taken in by the OP depending on the regularity of their baths?0 -

That's my understanding on the handwashing thing too - it's the soap that's the key part as the temperature of the water won't kill any germs anyway - it's not hot enough!
Unfortunately it takes longer than 145 - 20 minutes to heat an immersion tank from cold in my experience - that would give a very lukewarm bath sadly! It really is a now quite juggle between living a comfortable life and trying to balance the costs (and environmental impact) sadly.
We used to as standard switch our immersion off if we were going to be away overnight - these days it's actually more cost effective to leave it on for a single night, no more expensive to leave it on if away for two nights, and only past that point is it actually financially worth turning it off altogether. That's using electricity overnight at 17p a unit and assuming that when we return it just reheats on that same overnight unit cost.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Edit: for clarity, I can see data right back to when I joined SP. The smart meter data has been being read throughout without issues, it was purely being able to see it on the website that was not.0 -

FWiW, I am in similar but not identical situation with Octopus. The R2 register is now being used for peak and the R1 register is being used for offpeak. The important thing to store away for the future is that if you switch suppliers you must give the new supplier both the R1 and R2 readings from the actual smart meter. If you provide the single meter reading from the IHD, you will end up in a big mess and a readings dispute.

And the water comes out the oven much much hotter than the kettle water.
Does anybody know if you put the immersion heater on through night, does that hot water get used if you put electric shower on or does it only come through the taps? Out of interest.
I'm thinking it only comes through taps but wanted to ask in case.
