It certainly looks like it, so many people offering to help but they don't seem to be able to tell us what they bought and where from. I would have thought they would have known exactly what it was considering the price and nobody has even suggested they should have read the terms and conditions and pogofish hasn't told them off either!

The holiday was booked with a subsidiary of Hays travel named Designer Travel . They put together a multi stop package for Malaysia for 4 people . The holiday was due to take place in Feb 2022 but because of restrictions we were advised to postpone it until Feb 2023 with no changes to the itinerary, which we did . All monies for the holiday were paid (£5400 for my partner and i) all paid for using my card details.
Since then I have split from my partner and for obvious reasons no longer wish to be part of the foursome .
I contacted the guy that was my point of contact at Designer Travel and after a number of weeks he told me all I was due for my 1/4 of the holiday was £1088 which I wasn't happy with but he argued that was all I could have . I reluctantly agreed to this amount and he said he would process the refund. After a few weeks he then told me I was only due £663 and I would have to get the remaining £425 from my partner,  whom I no longer speak to so would be very difficult, and to be honest I paid all the £5400 to Designer Travel so why should I be asking someone else to refund me money ?
As I said I would take the matter to ABTA , Designer Travel will no longer communicate with me .
ABTA said that Designer Travel where in the right to treat me the way they had as it was in their T&C's but the only details of cancellations and refunds I can see is the scale of refunds I posted earlier.
Hope this all makes sense and hopefully someone can shed some light on the matter
    Regards
    Garry

Per person - what was the breakdown of the original booking ( flights / accommodation) ?

With the first booking would you have shared a room with your partner -
    4 adults - 2 rooms - ?

Now that you are not going there will still be 2 rooms required , The cost for the room is the same whether 2 people are in it or one .

There would be no refund due from the travel company for the accommodation as the room is still required.

So the only refund you would be entitled to from the travel company would be for your flights .

    Thanks for the info Onashoestring.
The original booking was £11600 of which £5400 was for my partner and I and the other £6200 was for my friend and his wife . There were 2 rooms booked so yes I agreed that they will still be needed.
And to the point you make about the flight refund .... I'm sure what you are suggesting is what has happened and that is why the refund is so low (£1088) , but my point is the travel company have only given me £663 and the remaining £425 that is outstanding is what I have to try and get from my ex-partner with whom I no longer have contact .
Surely the full refund should come from the travel company.
Thanks again for info you can provide .

@onashoestring's question was really about the breakdown between flights and accommodation, in order to assess the basis on which the refund is being offered, so how much per person were the flight costs specifically?

Who was the lead passenger for the entire booking and who has instructed your removal from it?  Like you, I'm struggling to understand why they'd refund some money directly to you and some to your ex-partner....
