    My OH is also leaving 3 and I was considering ASDA as it appeared pretty straight forward. I did notice RWG on the MSE list but don’t fully understand the pricing structure.

    Forgive me for appearing a bit dense but can the initial payment expire before it’s fully utilised or is there a requirement to make minimum payments over time, similar to say 1Pmobile or ID Mobile.

    If you want the free bundles,the £5 or £15 you put on stop as credit on ur account,and does not expire,no requirement to keep topping up,unless you want to of course. You must send a text or call once every 3 months to stop sim being restricted.

    Thanks for that.

    I have a contract so not that familiar with PAYG.

    It’s just the OH has had this 3 SIM for years when it was Voice 3p, Text 2p, Data 1p. In 2021 it moved to 10p, 10p, 5p and now it going to 35p, 15p, 10p. She’s would typically add £20 whenever the credit dropped down. Her usage is regular but not high, I think the last top-up was October/November time. It’s just she has been complaining that, of late, the credit runs out more quickly and with the proposed increase in July it seems a good time to change.

    So she’s in the market for a package where the credit is consumed across Data/Voice/Texts and doesn’t expire or require constant top-ups.

    So I’m undecided between;

    1pMobile.- Minimum top up commitment £30 P/A.  Rates appear very good.

    ASDA; I believe its biannual top up is possibly £5/10 each time. Rates higher than ipMoblile but not excessively so.

    RGW Mobile; that’s why I was trying to establish their pricing structure and therefore minimum P/A commitment.

    Well, if you go for the 50min/50SMS/250MB option you ONCE have to top up with £5 and then get this allowance every month for free. The £5 top up is not touched by these allowances and but WILL be used if you go over the 50min/50SMS/250MB (5p per min/5p per SMS/1p per MB).

    There's also an option for £15 top up and 100min/100SMS/750MB free per month. I've just switched to them and so far it looks good. If they keep this up then that's a great deal.

    EDIT: Apparently you have to call/text at least once every 90 days so that the account gets not locked though a simple call to their CS will unlock it again.
  • I'm a very light user (normally have access to wifi and rarely phone or text) and am interested in the £15 top up, but I need wifi calling to enable me to receive passcodes for mobile banking etc. by text as the mobile signal in my house is very poor on all networks. I'm currently on ASDA PAYG, who offer this. I've emailed RWG twice to ask if wifi calling is available with them (it is available on EE which they use), but haven't had a reply, which isn't very encouraging.

    I'd be grateful if anyone can enlighten me.

    I tried an RWG SIM. Unfortunately no calls over wifi. But other than that very good. But I've had to swap back to my 3, 200mb Data SIM because like you I need the calls over wifi.

    Interesting, the 3 Reward SIM supports WiFi calling?
    Hadn't even thought to try!
