Managed to do it eventually with AJbell. There is no system setup for it so they have to do it manually even though 'it is not possible'. Ring them, its possible but only after much pain.
Why did you choose AJ Bell instead of Hargreaves Lansdown?

    Thanks

Well it was the only one that would accept my transfer once I manually asked them to change my account details to allow the transfer. HL just said no we dont accept transfers at this time. I would encourage more to contact AJbell or any other provider about this as they dont advertise it you have to push!
I'm new to Stocks and Shares, how difficult is it to pick the most suitable things to invest in, to suit your level of risk?
I suggest you go over to the main savings and investments forum and post this question as a new thread, rather than jumping on to the end of another one on a different subject.
Some more details about yourself would be useful such as your age and the time scale  you want to invest. Also whether you are looking to invest via a pension, or ISA.
Sorry, I was referring to the AJ Bell Stocks and Shares LISA.
No problem, but the issue of which stocks and shares to invest in as a beginner, is the same regardless of whether it is a LIsa, or not.
It is a more general question . If you have a scroll through the Savings & Investments forum, you will see plenty of inexperienced investors asking for guidance ( then read the answers).

I would be interested to hear a bit more detail about how you managed this. What did you ask for, has the transfer in been successful etc?
Just kept ringing up. Eventually got the transfer accepted, if anything it was luck I spoke to a manager who understood + it was a larger amount. I dont think they want it advertised to stop a flood of enquiries to which the standard reply is ' it is not possible'.

Thank you. Were you an existing customer with another non-LISA account?

Ah, that's potentially significant information - it'll be interesting to see if others have any joy with >40 LISA transfers if they're existing AJB customers, or even if opening a SIPP (or other non-LISA product(s)) specifically to become one makes a difference....
