Do you reckon I can fit a king size mattress into a Ford Fiesta?

I fitted a queen sized divan in my Honda Jazz. The base split into two inside the car and the mattress on the roof bars tied on with a washing line going round and round through the back windows. I drove quite slowly from Cambridge to Nottingham - then a bit faster when it started to rain 5 miles from my destinationLove living in a village in the country side0

Our council will remove a mattress for a tenner. I find paying that easier.2

It literally took me 10 minutes to fold in half, tie with string to keep folded, stick in boot and drive 5 minute round trip to the tip. I treated myself to a few beers with the £10 saved.jefaz07 said:Our council will remove a mattress for a tenner. I find paying that easier.

That must have been many moons ago - there seem to be enough places around where one drink is a tennerDeleted_User said:I treated myself to a few beers with the £10 saved.

Two people required and some rope of parcel tape.
Roll it tight, Tape one end as the other person holds it down - then repeat to middle then the other side.
If its a cheapo mattress with will be easy, peasy but a good quality, firm mattress with 3000 plus springs, latxey covered by mem foam that is almost 18 inches tick will need some good effort.1 -
So, cut a hole in my mattress to see what I'm dealing with and it was quite easy to pull out one string. Probably will require an hour plus of effort, but I reckon I can remove the top and pull out enough string to roll it up and get it in the car.0

As an aside, a double mattress provides an excellent way to clean behind radiators. All you have to do is let it fall onto its side in the vicinity of the said radiator, and the updraft will bring a shower of fluff out and all over the room.
