My apologies @clearancer I was confused by the title of the thread and thought there was a billing or usage error.
Like every one else times are going to be tough and we all need to look at our energy usage. Lots of advice on this forum.
One question - is your shower electric or gas ?
Next winter turn that thermostat down another degree and then another one .Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Most people will not feel the need to have the heating on in May or April. A lot of people do not work from home so consume almost nothing during the working day. The average includes those who do not use heating through to those who keep their home at a constant 25c regardless of the season.clearancer said:
Typical? Really? Working from home wrapped in a blanket so I don’t have to turn on the heating is typical? That’s kinda sadRobin9 said:The bill does confirm Smart readings so no estimates involved.

To me your electricity use looks somewhat high - that's more than we use in a month at this time of year, and we only use gas for cooking - our heating (off at this time of year anyway, obviously) hot water and shower are all electric. That's the first place I'd be looking to reduce costs if I were you.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sounds like you still have the heating on...in June?? Most people totally turn theirs off around April.
