borderlord, the quote posted by Virgo19 is taken from the Energy Bills Support Scheme explainer news story from gov.uk, which has just been updated

Moneysavingexpert.com sent it to me,
energy bills support explainer- Gov.UK, I have not been around long enough to post links0 -
Hi GingerTimRight, but also wrong. The chancellor said ALL household would receive this rebate, not just those on a domestic tariff. It's that promise we have to hold him to.Jeff1

Not wrong, alas - the official government guidance to the scheme is explicit that the £400 will be credited only to domestic energy billpayers: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cost-of-living-support/cost-of-living-support-factsheet-26-may-2022
I wish you nothing but the best in trying to get hold of the money, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
You might also raise this issue on the energy board, it's come up a few times there too.2 -
Hi GingerTimAll through that text, the government refers to 'domestic energy suppliers' except for the last part where it mentions electricity companies. Not sure on other parks, but all my residents have gas supplied by one of two lpg companies. If that's not a domestic energy supplier, I don't know what is.Also, if you read further down it also says 'Pensioners are disproportionately impacted by higher energy costs'.My park is specifically a retirement park, so most, if not all, residents are pensioners. The government should not say this and then deny us access to this rebate.Speaks of double standards to me.I'll keep trying.Couldn't find the energy board. Could you give me a link?Jeff

I completely agree and sympathise - I just fear in this instance the government are going to file this one under 'too difficult', along with those in HMOs who have a similar arrangement of being on sub-meters.
Apologies! I should have included the link - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/energy
There are some really knowledgeable people on there.0 -
I agree with Jeff that we should keep trying, because if we do nothing we definitely won't get the grant! Most of us on my park are retired, some of us are on low pensions and really in need of this extra help - we are all users of domestic energy so surely we're entitled to it along with everyone else? As suggested, I've written to my MP and hope others will do the same. Maybe there is something Martin can do to help us if he speaks with Rishi Sunak again? Good luck everyone!0

Hi allSorry if this question has already been asked over here, but I was recommended to this forum for your thoughts. So here goes.I live in a mobile home park, and do not have a domestic electricity account. I do have a meter, but this is read, and charges levied, by the park owner. I am sure there are many others in the same situation, and as things stand I will not have access to this rebate.I have read the government fact sheet and all through it refers to 'domestic energy suppliers' until the very last where it mentions electricity suppliers.Further on on the same sheet it states 'Pensioners are disproportionately impacted by higher energy costs'. I live in a retirement park, where most, if not all, the residents are pensioners.Need to find a way to hold the government accountable for this double standard.Any thoughts?Jeff
