Do you have some sort of user account with PackLink? Check there.
Do the reference numbers match up with anything you've ever sent with PackLink?
Does the invoice specify a date and item? Does this match a booking you made?
Could your pre-payment have failed or been returned to you?
Do you really need to ask the question "Should I ask them what it refers to?"I need to think of something new here...2 -
i have looked at it earlier, i think it refers to a an item i send last year that they thought it was overweight, it was not as i measured and weighed it as always before i sent it, but its going to be impossible to prove it was sent correctly
i dont like the idea they can just raise an invoice for this with no proof, do i ignore it or pay up?
its only £5 but its the principle of it, if it was incorrectly sent fine, but no it was not!0 -
I'm not an expert - but if they identified the parcel was overweight when you sent it - did they invoice you straight away? The T&C probably mention that possibility and you agree it when you tick the box. Even if you have your notes of measuring/weighing it will be difficult to challenge.I need to think of something new here...0

If payment is not made within five (5) calendar days following the receipt of this email, Packlink may initiate any legal actions deemed appropriate.
Just for future reference a company is incredibly unlikely to take legal action over £5, it would cost more than the amount due to chase and in this case they won't have any proof your parcel was bigger than you said it was.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2 -
I have the same email, exact same wording and price! I think this is likely a scam as I don't use packlink.
My invoice number starts the same and ends in 31 (not to disclose the whole number just yet but could via PM to see if it matches yours).
Also there are no links in the email apart from the payment to paypal. It looks dodgy all over!
I did check out "Lisandro Martino" and he has a linkedin profile. But of course anyone could look that up and create the scam email with the name.
You should consider alerting paypal and get a refund.0 -
go to packlink on ebay search the invoice number starting G21F and see if it comes up in your invoices
i had an indentical email searched the invoice number and it wasn't there so am deleting email
i am sure the email if not a scam would quote either your ebay name or your account name so dear fred jones or dear "sellitmenow"2 -
I got one yesterday but my wording is a little different instead of the 5 working days mine says
We ask that you make the payment as soon as possible and in no later than ten (10) calendar days after the date that this message is received.
I used packlink once last July 2021 and in September got an under payment invoice, I argued it as there measurements was wrong what they said I was allowed compared to when I purchased the label and they said they wouldn’t take it further and refunded. After seeing your thread I logged on to my eBay then packlink just to see and seen that a £4.99 was created after they told me it was sorted. ( it also had the invoice number what was showing in the new email). I replied with proof of my old email from last year saying I won’t be paying it.0 -
I am getting a load of these at the moment, they tend to come in fits and starts... I think it is there way of generating extra revenue as most people don't take photos of parcel weights and measurements etc. I have won a few and lost a few when querying.0

Packlink are still doing this. I got one yesterday for a silk dress sent last month which they say was 1.2kg sent with Hermes! It would have been 400g tops. You can’t actually speak to anyone. Also an item which went missing with them via Yodel they have just ignored. I read people said never use Packlink. I wish I had listened - NEVER USE PACKLINK0
