Notification of unpaid invoice - PACKLINK

You would be suprised just how many people are getting basically getting fleeced by PACKLINK.
I sold an item on ebay and purchased the postage through eBay with UPS. It was all weighed and measured absolutly correctly by me and UPS accepted the package.
3 weeks later I get a £4.99 bank charge from a Spanish company called PACKLINK, and as I did not know who they were I questioned the transaction, but was unable to stop it coming out of my account. Looking in my email junk folder was an invoice from PACKLINK stating my package was too big and a £4.99 cost was outstanding. Turns out that UPS (Along with most of eBays couriers) use PACKLINK as a subcontractor, and because of this they have access to my bank account.
So after a lot of back and forth, I noticed that the measurements PACKLINK provided shows my package was indeed correct and they had no right to charge my bank account. PACKLINK eventually refunded me nearly 2 months later and added this:
After reviewing the evidence provided we have issued a full refund of this underpayment charge.
Rest assured that we will work with the carrier to avoid future mistakes. Parcels are scanned by an industrial sorter which is extremely precise but in some cases, mistakes can happen, my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Just looking at how many people are getting spurious oversized / overweight invoices from Packlink on eBay forums is beyond belief. This is not a rare mistake and someone seriously needs to look into Packlink on a criminal level.0 -
Caved in and paid this early last year. But this morning they are emailing again asking for it to be paid
Just going to ignore them from now on. Cheeky gits0 -
Today I received yet another reminder from 'Lisandro' that I owe £3.99 for a package sent through Ebay. I'm convinced I purchased the correct mailing cost, however, even if I was wrong it certainly wouldn't warrant an additional £3.99. In the bigger scheme of things , this amount is not life changing and normally I wouldn't argue about it but if this is happening on a regular basis to many other people, it adds up.....I'm off to investigate further just to satisfy myself I paid the correct amount1

Up until recently I've received 3 notifications from Packlink claiming I'd underpaid UPS courier charges for an item I'd sold on Ebay. Today, an even bigger demand ie £50 + vat claiming the item was 3 times longer than it is in reality. Is this a scam? The item in question ie 6 golf clubs weighing less than 5kg and securely packaged in a purpose made box , was correctly measured and weighed and incurred a charge of £5.20 + vat. In fact the UPS collection point which I use regularly is such a small area that the staff frown when I walk in with a packaged golf club in correct box measuring 125 x 13 x 13.
£50 + vat penalty?? Really??? Ebay/UPS need to get this sorted out ASAP or likely to lose custom. Btw, I too have received emails from the now infamous Lisandro.

There's never much chance of an appeal but you can always try.
