Yes? Not sure your point. Like I said this is at the OTHER entrance that I DID NOT enter through. I was asking fisherjim a question in relation to the COP.molerat said:Chris4 said:Thanks @fisherjim
Is it possible they could have got around this because they have a sign at the other entrance?
The one that states "3 HOUR MAXIMUM STAY" in big letters ?
I was just curious as the BPA Code of Practice you shared in most cases refers to having a "sign" at the "entrance" (singular) rather than plural, it doesn't refer to having one at every entrance.fisherjim said:molerat said:Chris4 said:Thanks @fisherjim

But you didn't drive in through that entrance the signage must be visible at the entrance you used
Of course it needs signs at every entrance why should you be expected to search every car park you enter to check individual signs or lack of to check that they all correspond? That is exactly why the BPA has a COP that they should comply with to make everything clear concise and above board, the reality being the BPA isn't fit for purpose and the PPC gets away with it because the correct audits and checks are either not in place or followed up.

@fisherjim I logged a complaint with Trading Standards via citizens advice bureau to try and raise the issue as you suggested, and they responded saying parking tickets need to be raised with POPLA etc. They didn't get my point that I wasn't complaining about the ticket (which I've handling with POPLA) more the illegal/unfair practices they're running. But they said it'll be forwarded to Trading Standards and might be picked up, so maybe they'll understand.1

Update: Although ParkingEye rejected my appeal, POPLA accepted it and they've withdrawn the parking notice. 🎉
While I'm waiting to hear back from Trading Standards, I've found the British Parking Association complaints form so I'll get that submitted in hope the operator will get some signs up and stop unfairly charging people.4 -
Great! Well done.
When you get a moment, can you post the POPLA Decision in the Announcement thread of that name, only pleeeeease add at least ten paragraph breaks first! Don't post a wall of text.
Plus add a URL link to this thread and mention which PPC you beat and which location.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sure, I've posted, but I'm not sure the point of adding paragraph breaks before my post? Or what you mean by wall of text? I've just put the PPC, location, URL, and grounds for appeal.Coupon-mad said:Great! Well done.

Plus add a URL link to this thread and mention which PPC you beat and which location.@Coupon-mad is referring to the written decision by POPLA which comes out as one enormous, un-paragraphed, extremely difficult to read wall of text. Placing a number of paragraphs into it will make it much easier to digest, especially for newbies who, unlike regulars who've seen so many of these, might not easily spot the key points being made by POPLA.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It does help others if you post the assessors decision in full.

Could it be that PE did not proceed to POPLA so OP would not have received the usual POPLA "successful" wall of text?1

I didn't get one. It says the operator withdrew the appeal and talks about how this could be due to me paying it. I didn't pay it. So why would that happen?fisherjim said:It does help others if you post the assessors decision in full.
Do you think they've got scared by the evidence I've provided (as per my original post) that there's no signage, and therefore don't want it to go through appeal because POPLA/BPA may then become aware of their money-making trap...?
Here's the email:Dear _______,The operator has contacted us and told us that they have withdrawn your appeal. If you have already paid your parking charge, this is the reason your appeal will have been withdrawn. Unfortunately, you cannot pay your parking charge and appeal, which means that POPLA’s involvement in your appeal has ended. You will not be able to request a refund of the amount paid in order to resubmit your appeal to us.If you have not paid your parking charge, the operator has reviewed your appeal and chosen to cancel the parking charge. As the operator has withdrawn your appeal, POPLA’s involvement has now ended and you do not need to take any further action.Kind regardsPOPLA TeamHere's my POPLA appeal:
