Flight cancelled - extraordinary circumstances

Options
Was waiting to board easyJet flight to Lisbon from Bristol, 10 minutes before boarding they cancelled it, stating extraordinary circumstances and an IT failure that has grounded 2000 flights. What are my rights? We also have airport parking and an Airbnb. Will they also refund the return flight? In the T and Cs it says they won’t refund for what they consider extraordinary circumstances….

You get your flight refunded but no compensation etc.
The parking and hotel are on you.

I am worried because they said they won’t refund for extraordinary circumstances. And they deemed this to be so…

Isn't EasyJet IT having issues today?  I think a lot of flights have been cancelled.

Hopefully this will be covered by your travel insurance if the airline won't help.

This is clearly their issue and therefore their responsibility to pay compensation for the last-minute cancellation. Extraordinary means outside their control, their IT is their problem!
