And would you "re educate" these people as i believe this has been tried before in other countries.-1

You are making one hell of a leap from the statement that it is perfectly legitimate to criticise the viewpoints of others, to saying that people should be sent to "re-education camps".Benny2020 said:And would you "re educate" these people as i believe this has been tried before in other countries.3 -
People who hold a different opinion to you or have a different life experience are not stupid and do not need re-educating.

But people whose beliefs are harmful to themselves and others - "Freemen on the Land", say - should have the opportunity to be tought otherwise? Or are you simply opposed to education in general?Benny2020 said:People who hold a different opinion to you or have a different life experience are not stupid and do not need re-educating.

It is a dangerous way of thinking, who decides what belief is harmful to themselves or others?
We were talking about voting, do you want an IQ test before voting?, do you want only people with a degree to vote?0 -
£32.2 billion in the first quarter for Saudi AramcoMouldyOldDough said:BP made £4.9billion profit in the first 3 months of this year
Shell made £7.3 billion in the same period – that’s over £500 per household, just from these two companies in just three months
This is a vast amount of money at our expense
The government MUST impose a windfall tax on these profits to plough back in to supporting customers and also should prevent these companies from increasing rates any further.

Tax isn't the issue, being a slave to their product is, or in fact just general over consumption, the oil companies are investing heavily in plastics for the future to off set possible reduction in demand for current uses of fossil fuels.

Something like that was in the oft mention 7 vote system proposed by the author Neville Shute as a bit-part of his book In the Wet in the 1950's.
You get more votes as you become more educated and life experienced and the 7th vote is given instead of an honour

Do you come here solely to complain? You started a thread demanding that the government MUST impose a windfall tax and give more money to consumers. Just a few hours later the government announces it is doing precisely this and your response is as above, rather than being happy about it.MouldyOldDough said:So the government is trying to make us forget about partygate by offering us all (?) up to £850 in payments to compensate for price risesIts blatant£650 to lowest income£150 to disabled£300 to pensioners£400 to everyoneHow do they expect us to react ?Boris should just apologise rather than put the UK even further in to debtAnd what about disabled, low income, over 65's - will they get the whole lot ?1 -

Nice straw man you've got there.

What belief can be classed as harmful and acted against? I was pretty sure that actions can be outlawed, not beliefs. There is the whole debate about hate speech though that unfortunately slipped through the cracks, mostly thanks to the woke mentality.QrizB said:Benny2020 said:It is a dangerous way of thinking, who decides what belief is harmful to themselves or others? The relevant authorities do.
