I had a £50 transaction pop up on my card from Manchester, on a day I knew I was in Croydon getting the car mot.
Called the bank and they put it on hold.
Turns out the cash point I used in a shell garage in Croydon is registered in Manchester.
Bank we’re fine about it looked suspicious.
So could you have purchased something near home but shop registered else where.

I have had a couple of weird initial amounts appear.
I bought petrol in Malta (pre authorised up to 50 euro) and filled up with 42 euro.  I checked my chase app and it was initially showing 34 euro for some strange reason. Having been home a couple of days it is now showing the correct amount.
Strange thing to say filling up a tank at this price but unleaded is 1.34 euro per litre there, and diesel even cheaper. A long way to travel to fill up though.
Then getting on a bus near Gatwick Airport I was initially charged 10p for a £2.70 trip but again the correct amount is showing now.
In both cases the money going to round up has not been adjusted.
I'm sure that most people don't check their payments as closely, well at least those not using this site so it could be easy to suddenly find future transactions failing due to lack of funds.

That’s how roundup is meant to work.
