  • Would you happen to have a template of sorts for your daily spreadsheet? You'd think being an accountant I would love to make one but I'm so sick of the sight of them nowadays I lose all inspiration for putting together another  :#

I will see what I can do, it's on Pages rather than on Excel as I'm a Mac user.  I'll drop you a PM over the next few days if I can sort it :)

Almost the end of the working week and I couldn't help but try and work out which debt I should actively focus on first.

At the moment I have said I want to clear Halifax CC with current balance of just under £3000. This has 9 months left of 0% interest. All my PAD's currently and all spare funds the evening before payday were going to be sent here.

However, I am now considering that perhaps it would be wiser to attack my Virgin CC first? This has a balance of £2321 and only 7 months of 0% interest remaining... I worked out that if I throw the minimum DD payment of £25, all my PAD's (hoping to average around £2.50 a day totalling £75 a month) and my leftover balance before payday (hoping again for around £300), this will allow me to pay off the CC in 5.8 months....

This would however mean that I wouldn't be putting any spare funds to a side to increase my EF which I also think is important.... the MOT and annual full service is early July with a good few advisories from last time :(, not to mention both my DD and DS birthday within three weeks of one another mid July/Aug!

Aaarrgghhhh I cannot decide! Stick with Halifax as it's the biggest sum, or attack the CC with the shortest 0% interest remaining...

  • I personally chose to prioritise the one with the shortest 0% time. But it’s entirely your decision :)

Morning folks, a beautiful day over in the North West!

So, I think I have decided that I am going to try and wipe out my Virgin CC first with it being a smaller amount and having only 7 months left of 0%. I shall send all my daily PAD's to this alongside continuing to pay the minimum as normal (£25). Whatever I have left at the end of the month pending circumstances I shall also throw at this :) The goal is to have this clear before 31st January 2023! £4.65 PAD heading to my Virgin Account today!

I took the plunge into checking out Vinted and advertising a good few things on there. Mainly my sons old clothes and Xbox360 games that I have clung onto for no reason at all for years! These sold instantly (overwhelming sense of panic wondering what the heck I've just got myself into)! Had a nightmare trying to persuade my printer to throw me the damn barcodes... it decided of all times to run out of ink! However, we have finished scrapping and now I have all the labels. I just need to venture to a post office to try and buy the most appropriate packaging! One of the sales is for 13 games! Supposed to send it in a 'large' package but praying I pick the right size :( I tried to buy a little dress bundle for my DD but Vinted didnt like my Starling card :( still managed to take two lots of 10p from me though before rejecting my payment method so I had best get that back!

Other half has left us for 3 days to go hiking with his family in Wales for his Dad's 60th so it's just me and the minions! A neighbour knocked last night asking if we wanted to join them in going to the jubilee party at the local grounds on Saturday so that's something different to do. Candyfloss, little rides, face-painting. It shall be fun!

I am due to receive the normal child benefit of £145 on Monday which will buffer the current account a little. I spent another £50 on fuel yesterday which is depressing.... didn't even make it a week this time! This is down to driving extra miles for 3 days to and from the kids holiday club before and after work so its not surprising. Still hurts all the same.

Plans for today: buy the nag a grazing muzzle, get some washing on the line, dog walk, purchase packaging for these vinted items and whack them into the Inpost Locker... no idea how to operate this!

  • Inpost lockers are the easiest thing ever. You just use the screen, then scan the bar code on your package. It will automatically open a locker door, you pop it in and then press to get a qr code for your receipt, pop your email in and it’s done.  Really simple and they’re accessible 24/7 so no waiting for shops to open.

  • Well done on getting some bits sold, it just shows one mans trash and all that!   I hadn’t even thought about putting games etc on, I dont do the lockers out local te$co does the whole scan it yourself so I have been sticking to that for now.

Fuel is depressing, at least as it brightens up we can try walk a bit more and drive less at the weekends. I am quite bad for popping to the shop around the corner etc.

    Jubilee celebrations sound lovely, enjoy!

@LittleMissDetermined oh thank you soo much for that advice regarding the lockers. I am one for requiring and reading instructions thoroughly before attempting something hence the panic of simply rocking up! Fingers crossed the machine behaves for me and my 5 packages! Only put each item up for £1 as I am not looking to make loads, just enough to get it out of my house and a bit more paid off towards the CC :)

Most definitely @Throughmyfingers! We love our walks and thankfully we have a beautiful dog walk right on our doorstep :) That shall be taken advantage of today with the weather!

Think most free activities today are a write-off with the weather as it currently stands :( Kids are happy watching a film at the moment whilst I catch up on other DF diaries and continue to try and plan for paying off CC's as fast as possible without burning myself out! Good thing it's fun (OH thinks i'm just wired differently :D

Have made my PAD to the CC2 (Virgin) of £3.71 giving me total payment thus far of £8.36. DD of £25 is due on the 14th so I need to look into getting this changed to the 1st as its driving me mad being in the middle of the month. Can only change once every 6 months (annoying) so will have to wait a while as for some reason the 14th was a limited option...

Managed to send all my parcels yesterday and have another 2 sales to post today so the Vinted pending balance is £40.40! Amazing considering I was very sceptical about selling online for the first time but now I must rate it. Haven't received any money yet as they have to receive their items before releasing the funds to me but fingers crossed all is well and without disputes :) Shall rummage around my daughters room today to see if I can rob any of her unwanted clothes/items to pop on for extra funds. All is going to pay off CC2 :)

My instant ink monthly charge came out today being £2.99 but its well worth it as from the labels ive printed for posting I am definitely getting my monies worth there.

Probably nothing much on the cards today apart from perhaps cleaning/tidying/sorting through some stuff. Horse in the evening as per and shall make curry tonight for me and the minions.

  • It's quite addictive selling things isn't it?  I am hoping to add a few more bits today as I've nothing planned so I can do what takes my fancy.  You're doing really well in terms of your planning and focus, my hubby isn't 'wired' like me either. He's just paid for something on his credit card... We both have similar outstanding balances and I think he will take twice as long to clear his as he has a more relaxed attitude towards his debt.
