Small tea bags

I like Yorkshire teabags the best, but the prices are rising quite a bit, so I alternate and buy Sainsburys Red label which I think is about the nearest to Yorkshire tea. Its pretty stong, and if you want you can easily get two cups from one bag
One of my grandsons bought me last Christmas a teapot/with cup and saucer/plate built in to it, and so I have my little teapot which I can put one red label tea bag in and have my first cuppa ,then top up with more boiling water for my second cup. great in the afternoon and the cup with extended saucer (the bit on the side holds a couple of biscuits) is excellent.Bless him he knows I am a real 'teapot' person. A couple of months ago I bought, reduced because of a broken lid, a box of PG extraa strong tea bags, which you can easily get two cups from. These were pretty good as well
I remember back in 1960 going to the continent for the first time as a young teenager and in Belgium first seeing a tea bag.
When I came home I told my late Mum, and said when I wanted a cup of tea, and they brought me a glass of boiling water in a holder with a little white bag with some string on it, and you dangle it into the hot water and swirl it around until the water looks like tea then add the milk.
My Mum bless her looked at me as though I was pulling her leg and then said "Hmm, well it will never catch on in this country, sounds barbaric to me ,and people like a proper pot of tea"
She also thought I was teasing when I told her that in Germany and Switzerland where I stayed there were no blankets or bedspreads on the beds just big long thick pillows which you wrapped around yourself to keep warm
She also thought the world was going daft :How can you keep warm and sleep properly with just a pillow around you" She just thought it was pure lunacybut sure enough we had duvets and tea bags eventually become more popular than blankets and tea pots

I don't like strong tea either so I buy PG Tips instant tea. Just like instant coffee you use as much as you like. I use half a teaspoon and that's just right for my liking. It says it makes 80 cups but that's if you use the recommended amount of 1 teaspoon per cup, so it makes a lot more for me. £3 at Sainsburys.

Hi,you want strong black tea, the colour of Guinness, and don't spoil it with sugar or milk, though after a while it will stain your teeth.5

Have you tried Rooibos? It doesn't stew as there are no tannins. Loaded with antioxidants. No caffeine. I. love it but not everyone does.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Sainsburys Red Label for us. We like our tea quite strong (but not stewed) and achieve that by using just a drop of milk rather than leaving the tea bag in too long. And yes, we have been known to re-use them!Be kind to others and to yourself too.4

I'm the sort that likes a strong slice of tea! And generally I use teabags as I'm lazy. But the OH likes to brew up special teas which he buys from a shop that just sells tea, coffee and the paraphanalia to go with it. Given that they probably have a hundred different blends theres bound to be something that it light and delicate as you might like.
The times I do use loose tea I found the easiest thing to do is to get a "bell" but I have the type that is spring loaded so you can just dip it into to pick up as much or as little as you like. I use this often in the evenings for the sleepy tea (generally hemp & chamomile)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
