  • Spent yesterday in bed sick with a cough. Babysitting child had it and foolishly said I'd babysit on Wednesday without thinking that I might catch it 🤦‍♀️ Annoyingly that meant no cleaning work and no money.
Usual rigmarole from teacup about how she couldn't afford sick days- exactly what I wanted to hear.
On the bright side can't spend any money when you're sick 🤣🤣🤣

Waiting to see how much my mortgage has gone up- seems to be going up monthly these days.

Other than that methinks the planning will have to wait, maths is not my strong suit at the best of times.

Off to enjoy a cup of tea- missed it yesterday.

Hope you shift the cough. At least it wasn't a 2 teabag day...

  • I'm not really sure I can taste the tea dia, otherwise it very well might have been.

Now that dad is set up with a hospital bed, I've put the bedframe back in my room. It's a bit odd looking but so far everything fits underneath it. Being sick in bed for a day kinda put me off the whole mattress on the floor thing.

Have woken up with all sorts of interesting blisters from pushing the wheelchair yesterday.

The organisation process is slowly coming along. I'm still struggling with organizing money but have made some progress with what I am calling "Dadmin". There are so many things to keep track of, just the brain dump list already has 20 items.

Glad you have a bed. Those bike gloves with pads might be good for wheelchair pushing?
Admin is a good one. Keep the copyright  ;)

Glad the early morning GYN session was better.

Hope you find some gloves to ease the blister situation.

Glad you have a proper bed again

Now that my trip to Scotland is behind me (sigh), my intention is to refocus my efforts on debt repayment. Other priorities are living in a clean and organised house (the parts that I use for myself and Dad), food and health and continuing to learn the skills I need to manage living.

The Irish budget has been released and the carer's allowance has been increased by €12 a week from January. I'd be interested in seeing the maths that went into that decision. Apparently this month will see a double payment and next month a cost of living grant. If they arrive (a suspicious lack of actual dates) then they will be put toward one of the above.

At the moment though I am coughing up my oesophagus, my cold seems to make an appearance at night now. Not helped by all the mould spray that I used in the bathroom. If the new working arrangement continues then I may be able to pay off debt sooner rather than later which would be another huge relief.
Especially as Dad is all over the place right now and has taken to spending the night making speeches instead of sleeping...

Photo above is of me having nerdy fun velcroing things to my walls.
