Sitting up with Dad while he tries to go to sleep. I'm at the shouting stage so I'm distracting myself with MSE.
It looks like carers may get some sort of cost of living payment in November. It doesn't say which November mind...
All of my plans today were spoiled and now I'm feeling like kicking bins. Teacup was having one of her tantrum mornings, followed by the 3yo screaming for 20 minutes. Very, very drained.
I am looking for another gym, one with a more convenient pool schedule. Also less noise 🤷
Had 4 Audible credits to use before I can cancel. Two books have come up in my recent reading that were available so I got them. I've never really gotten into listening to books but I managed three whole chapters of Building a Second Brain while walking to the shop.

Sorry it's been a frustrating day.
Good luck finding a new gym - sympathise on the noise!
Good look with audible. You can pause your membership - if you go to cancel they may offer you a month or more free or reduced price for x months.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sorry you are so drained. Sounds tough today. Hope tomorrow is a bit easier. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks SH and DIA.
Poor Teacup came down and let me go to bed about midnight.
SH my audible membership has just finished a pause so I haven't got any left. I had it because dad's likes can be a bit niche. I've subsequently found a book he likes on yt and can get audiobooks on the library site.
It's the nights I find quite tough. There is a sense of disappointment that I'm not going to get any time to myself. And getting further behind with my own projects.
Today will be a regroup day methinks.2 -
Glad Teacup was able to give you some relief.
Good you can get some books from the library.

Do those of us who need time to ourselves EVER get enough time to ourselves? It was a massive surprise to me that there are some people who actually DON'T need time to themselves. We are all different after all.

SH the gym has panoramic views of the mountains and loads of natural light. Which somehow makes the noise even worse.
Badmemory- probably not. I quarantined in a hotel last year for five days, spoke to nobody except on the phone and it wasn't enough 🤣🤣🤣
Babysitting pays today which is nice.
Yesterday me and dad had a laugh while I was telling him about feeling like I was on drugs while the kids were watching tv. It's not all bad.2 -
No I don't think we get enough time to ourselves - however it's also true that time to ourselves isn't always good for us. It's a balance.
For me it's about noise sensitivity as much as anything else...
WD - shame that even the views couldn't distract from the noise. Perhaps you were just feeling over-stimulated full stop. A dark cave sounds appealing at times...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I suppose it depends how much you get drained by other people/environments. And by your own thoughts 🤦♀️
I tried the gym at 6am SH and it was an improvement. No thumpy music. And bonus I now have a McDonald's breakfast 🤣
Forgotten how much I like early mornings. I've been out and collected Heavy from work, been to the gym, gotten breakfast and still have time to read, organise a bit and do some thinking.1
