Can I get some help with a fault on my sons car please

You can still get car mechanics, I used to buy this many years ago when I used to repair and service my own cars, I doubt you’d get your sons specific fault covered as a feature in the mag, but they might have a trouble shooting section, or you could email it in,0

Right, firstly let me say I am not a mechanic and I know b****r all about fixing cars but I had a similar sounding problem a number of years ago and it turned out to be the idle air control valve needed cleaning. This may or may not be of use to you!1

It's possibly a case of crap in the air box, how often do you do this?

I did a few shifts at the printing works where 'Fiesta' was produced, many moons ago. It was certainly existent then, although I never had cause to read one. I did, however, rescue a copy of 'Reader's Wives Erotic Stories' or similar to pass the time whilst the line was paused. They were funny!Benny2020 said:
Does Fiesta magazine still exist?Alanp said:I would try the fiesta forum, I’m sure someone will be able to offer a solution
As for the car, who knows. Is this happening when hot or cold? If there's a petrol smell then it suggests that the fuel injectors are working, but the petrol isn't being burnt properly at low revs. That could be caused by not enough air, not enough sparks or poor spark quality or even too much petrol. Lots of variables. Is there any black smoke?0 -

But seriously, a few folk have said check the air filter. It's certainly one thing to check, and it's something that you can check very easily yourself, just a quick visual inspection will show if it's OK-ish or gunged up the gunwales. And yes, whilst your at it, clean out the filter housing itself. It may not be this - there are dozens of potential causes. But it'll cost you nothing to take a quick look (and it's a very easy DIY job to pop in a new filter if it does turn out to be filthy), so there's nothing lost.
