Morning all! New morning, new month. I have cast June into the abyss and oblivion. :D So far this morning:
+I did my set up of threads on my other two sites for group members to post their TBRs for July. On checking ,no one has yet done so,but at least its there! :) I have only done a short basic TBR for now. Some of the books are quite long or detailed, and may need some concentration,so good luck with that. I am doing my usual Canada challenge,my Pick a Friend, and some classic SF.May try some crime fiction, probably older stuff though,I dislike most modern stuff so dark and grim and full of bad language. I am a sedate old woman now, need sedate crime. :)
+ peeled the spuds, prepped the veg,am making simple curried chicken pasties for Mr Dusty.I can make two meals from the frozen curry, for £1.25.Hey,something frugal to report for once The chicken is miniscule, but for once Mr D likes the sauce. I have tried so many curry sauces over the years and he dislikes nearly all of them,so being able to find one he likes is a bonus
+ health. fairly good night,a 4 1/2 hour block of good sleep, one visit to the loo,and then 2 hrs.The other night after having that chemical for the CAT scan injected I was up no less than 5 times,so only once is a miracle :) Still yawning of course, but my hand is fairly straight and barely painful.so I can type (that darned letter ''r'' is still missing out 4 out of 5 times, makes me look semiliterate,so bear with me if sometimes the ''r'' is missing because I got sick of going back and corecting it - case in point see the word correcting earlier in the sentence! :D

For the first time in ages I had to have the light on at 8.30pm to make supper. Grey cold windy day all day led to a dull grey evening. The shape of things to come....sigh......
Spots of rain on the window right now,and it has to rain all day on and off. I had wanted to go to town to find a new blouse for GD6 birthday party tomorrow, but not if its raining. The shop I want is at the far side of the shopping area,a 15 min walk from the bus station,I need a couple of little rests on seats if I am to get there, do shopping, and trot (limp) back,so I need a dry day.

I went to town after all,got a bit wet,and couldnt sit down as the seats were wet - the few still left,as the council seem to have removed most of them because of covid! :D So I had to walk all over the place without a break. Paying for it now, with muscles paining, but I got a couple of T shirts and some ......sandshoes?plimsolls? sneakers? I never know what to call them, but laced up canvas shoes of some sort. Was too tired to look around shoe shops anyway,I really need some nice shoes.
Never got to M&S for a blouse, because of torrential rain,so trudged back through the shopping mall and it had stopped raining by then and I walked the 10 minutes back to the bus station and home.
DD1s boyfriend just brought me a whole side of fresh salmon which will be cut into 4 good sized chunks to make 2 to 3 portions each for Mr D,so that was great . :)
Our next door neighbour just had a tree which leaned over our hedge chopped down this evening. It was precarious, completely covered in ivy right up to the top.Its been there about 60 years or more, and now there is open sky,it feels a bit odd. The men are sawing it up into logs right now.

Woke up really in pain from too much exercise yesterday. But have worked through it. Got up to the shop to top up my phone, washed my hair - long job now Its half.way down my back,I look like a aged 60s hippie! But so do huge numbers of people today.
The surgery were not happy with Mr Dusty's BP result - 169/90 - and he has to do BP readings am and pm for a week, take an average and then take in the results to the nurse.
Did I say HE would do it ?Silly me,of course I am doing it all. :D His results this morning, average of 2 readings was 148/74,way too high. Pulse was 56.Pretty sure he will have to go on BP medication. Precovid of course he went out to town about 5 days a week, did the journey across town to Tesc* to buy bread, meat and fish, and got about 40 mins walking exercise daily. Two years of sitting in the chair for hours at a time has not been a good thing. And he has been in total denial that he is borderline diabetic for about the same length of time, refusing foot clinic appointments and the like. He is offended by the suggestion! He has always been quite fit except for the Homer Simpson tummy, can run for buses,go up and down stairs without a stick or needing the bannister rail, eats moderate amounts with few snacks, but the inactivity and the years of roast potatoes and masses of peanut butter are catching up with him I guess! >:)Possibly the memory issues etc are from diabetes, not alzheimers. Who knows.
Just another layer of stress for me to cope with.
Right,so now make the dinner, dry my hair and comb it through,(noting how much hair I am losing daily),iron my clothes for the party.
Still dont know who's taking us. DS2 is having to do all the prep for party because his partner  was sent home sick from work in the hospital dispensary yesterday. Hope its not covid,I am already leery of being with the whole family anyway, but dont feel I can refuse. I am going to see a great granddaughter for the first time, shes 9 months old,so I've got to go.
Anyway I am off to the kitchen and then lots of things to do. See you probably tonight.

I too have thyroid problems and put that down as the reason for the amount of hair on the brush each morning. Blood test confirmed it was very low Vit D and I was prescribed Vit D capsules from my doctor. The result has been amazing as despite having very thick hair and used to shedding more than the average person, I'm not losing more than one or two in the brush each morning and my hair is back to the thickness it was pre low thyroid.
All that clutter used to be money
