You might want to stoke the fire of the cave you are living in.
Just to save us all time by back to forth postings about things you already know the answers to I’m sure you will say this was not comparable to this new rule about all inclusive drinks but equally half hearted attempts to compare it to noise rules after 12am and tourist taxes is the same and is equally non comparable.0 -
"Wear a mask, get a jag, do a test, do a form, stay apart."How are these relevant to separately introduced legislation in the Balearics ?Where could you travel to without vaccinations ?Masks were compulsory for some periods in parts of the UK and on aircraft flying just about everywhere.Such rules were set by national government in Madrid and applied to all of Spain and the Canaries........not just the Balearics. The SpTH procedures have now been revised, certainly not removed....although there are reports there may be another revision soon. These face mask requirement has now been relaxed acoss the whole of the country, but can be re-introduced if and when circumstances might change. The point is that the Balearics government (largely self governing) has introduced legislation to allow local authorities to implement restrictions in the provision of alcohol in selected locations, not just AI hotels, and it is not being applied universally. The Tourist Tax and noise control measures were introduced several years ago and have not been revoked, the former was doubled a couple of years after it started. Neither of these measures has had a negative effect on the tourist trade there.I can't see these drinking restriction rules being revoked simply on the basis of unpopularity among a section of tourists. As for the cave comment - grow up.0

I agree with whoever said that maybe they're going for a different type of holiday maker. One who ventures outside of their complex and contributes to the local economy. Completely up to them to decide that's what they prefer. As long as holiday makers are now aware, they can choose to go to different places to get what they want. Its a shame for OP though as that's a different scenario as it was changed after booking.0

"They're really quite relevant given the question you asked."Face masks rules - applied by nearly every national government in the developed world.Vaccinations - ditto.Covid tests - where required, as above.Forms - legislation of Spanish central government.Stay apart - rules instigated at national level - not just in Mallorca or Ibiza etc.The Balearic government had no discretion in applying these measures, and could only relax them when higher authority allowed. The relevant alcohol restrictions were being enabled in February 2020 - so it's hardly breaking news. You are correct, we'll see what happens.0

However their has been a lot more significant news that has overtaken it in the last couple of years. It wasn't relevant in summer 2020 because everyone was more concerned about the other more pressing rules you've now familiarised yourself with.0

I reckon the Balearic government are more than capable of running their internal affairs. When it comes to tourism especially.0
