Even if Halifax uses the numbers, they can be spoofed. The only safe way to find out whether the calls were genuine is to call Halifax on a number you know is actually genuine, or to pop into a Branch.0

Texts, emails, phone calls. Never use the number in the aforementioned but look it up on the net.0

Tried several times. get told that the queue for answers is at least 1Hr each time!
FWIW I would always phone the number on the back of the card. Hackers can't easily replace that.
I've also used a contact number from Halifax web site and 159. after going through ID checks you get the message about the que length.0 -
I waited a hour to speak to Halifax fraud team today that took 1h15min then called a second time that took like 45 mins or more who knows .

Halifax telephone customer service is an absolute and utter disgrace
basically they don’t want to talk to ANYONE
and covid provides the perfect excuse to ignore their customers
very reluctantly I’ve now got apps for all my bank accounts - never wanted to as I don’t trust anything online due to hackers and spammers and crooks
but you’ve no choice- they don’t want to talk to people - end of
i don’t know why anyone bothers with Halifax anymore anyway as their interest rates are pathetic too0 -
