Call and Text claiming to be from Halifax

Had 2 texts claiming to be from Halifax from +447723190392. Claimed there was a declined payment on my Halifax debit card, and quoting the last 4 digits of the card.
followed up by a call to my mobile and on my land line from 03330459573 with an automated message claiming to be Halifax Fraud Dept.
The Text messaged asked me to either type YES to confirm or NO if it was not me.
Neither of these numbers is listed as a Haliofax contact number, so i ignored them.
Tried contacting Halifax on the number on the back of my debit card but gave up after waiting in a queue for 45 minutes

If you are concerned freeze your debit card until you can get through either telephone or chat.

probably a scam. Halifax wouldn't text you from a mobile number. Block the number, and report it to 77261

The 0330 number is a genuine Halifax number and the text is also almost certainly genuine.
They have a bad habit of using unverifiable numbers. But call them as soon as you're able.0 -
The OP said is was an 0333 number - -- but whatever, scamsters spoof phone numbers.Deleted_User said:The 0330 number is a genuine Halifax number and the text is also almost certainly genuine.

Any unsolicited text or call is a scam even if it’s not.
Assume it’s a scammer until proven otherwise.
If your worried just call them direct.
First Direct fraud calls come from foreign call centre, who in their right mind would believe or trust the caller.

https://who-called.co.uk/Number/03330459573
but most say it is a fraud.
All users on
https://www.unknownphone.com/phone/03330459573
report it as fraud.
I can't find any reference to 03330459573 on the Halifax on line banking site in their contact numbers
If anyone can would they please post a link to it.0 -
Have you called Halifax yet on a known number?
It is more than likely a genuine fraud alert.
