Why are you speaking to Three?https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/features-and-news/text-to-switch-simple-to-switch-mobile-network - "If you want to switch and keep your existing phone number, text ‘PAC’ to 65075 to begin the process.
Your current provider will reply by text within a minute. They will send you your PAC, which will be valid for 30 days. Their reply must also include important information about any early termination charges or pay-as-you-go credit balances.
You then give the PAC to your new provider and they must arrange for the switch to be completed within one working day."

Coincidentally, I'm currently on Three and earlier today I sent for my PAC by texting PAC and my date of birth (DDMMYY) to 65075 (you'll need to send your date of birth as well as PAC, because if you don't, they'll send a text back asking you to do so). As mentioned above, a minute later a text was sent back with my PAC. So sending for a PAC via text does work.
Also, about an hour or so later, I got a text offering me a substantially better deal from Three if I stayed with them, applicable for the duration of the PAC.0 -
I did the same although the offer they suggested was with SMARTY mobile (their sister company) for 60Gb at £10pm and said the offer was available until my PAC expires (after 30 days). Speak to SMARTY 1 week later and offer is no more so Three are blatantly telling porkies. Probably ok if another Three offer but just be wary about what they say.Qew said:Coincidentally, I'm currently on Three and earlier today I sent for my PAC by texting PAC and my date of birth (DDMMYY) to 65075 (you'll need to send your date of birth as well as PAC, because if you don't, they'll send a text back asking you to do so). 60GB for £1 / month? Don't think I'd have waited a minute, let alone a week, if I'd been offered that deal.0

I did that and received an SMS back stating 'this number is no longer with 3'. Apologies I was not clear. That is why I did the on line chat.Neil_Jones said:Why are you speaking to Three?https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/features-and-news/text-to-switch-simple-to-switch-mobile-network - "If you want to switch and keep your existing phone number, text ‘PAC’ to 65075 to begin the process.Your current provider will reply by text within a minute. Resolved - it was because I had used Rob instead of Robert (example) when I started the chat. So it was my fault...'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

My brother had difficulty doing a number port between Three and Smarty, as they're the same company. He had to do a "triangular" port, ie, get a different SIM (eg Vodafone), port out from Three to that, then back onto Smarty.P1Fanatic said:

Mine worked fine. Requested it Friday lunchtime and was completed Monday afternoon. Only issue I had was imessage on my iPhone 12 was still using the temp number and I could not change it even with a reboot. Spoke to Smarty Tech Support on chat (very quick) and they advised a reset of network settings and that did the trick.shiraz99 said:
