So £1000 for 3 months in winter when we had 1 maybe 2 functioning storage heaters and an electric fire plus 1 tv, oven, hob in a small 3 bed semi is extreme. Also the 8k is for near 18 months.
Please tell us all the meter readings you have - opening, closing and any intermediate ones - and the dates they were taken. Until you do this we really can't be any more help.

You've not said but is that £8k including the £93 per month   or excluding ie £9600 ?

Excluding, we’ve been paying £93 a month. At one point we’d accrued £1000 credit on the account too

Something strange about Rate 2.  There's no way it didn't change between 21 November 21 and 31 March 22.

Thank you for the meter readings.
These are all meter readings that you took yourself? None of them are estimated, or taken by professional meter readers?

I agree the first readings look low. But we always put it down to the fact that only 2 rooms had heating (in a 3 bed semi). The kids room had an electric heater but we were always too worried it was a fire risk that we refused to switch it on unless we were in the room. So we barely used it. Weirdly out bedrooms storage heater made the room too hot, so we just stuck lots of duvets on and switch the heating off. The only room we generally had heating running in was the sitting room (1 storage heater) and an electric fire.

So whilst waiting know it may look odd, it also weirdly makes sense
