What an inappropriate time to launch a new payTV service!

I don't see why it is an inappropriate time?

Possibly inappropriate is the wrong descriptor - in view of the number of cancellations Netflix are reporting - unwise might be nearer the mark.  :D

Maybe they are hoping they will snatch up some of the people who have cancelled Netflix... but with all these extra streaming services just segragating content up i don't think it's going to end well and will be their downfall. I'm not going to be paying for many different services each month just to watch what i want. I current have Netflix and Amazon prime but if Netflix loses much more content or ends up introducing adverts i will cancel it and won't be looking for another service to replace it as it isn't worth it.

An article in the Guardian last week was comparing streaming services in the price and was it value for money?

Paramount+ was mentioned, and perhaps it will be the one to go under first?    Cost of living, people tightening their belts on what to spend their money on.

Value for money is subjective, never mind what the Guardian or anybody writing on behalf of any paper says.

If you're going to watch a large chunk of the streaming service's content then its good for you.  If you watch one film or series on Netflix a day, then your £6.99 works out to 23p per film/series per month, less if you watch more.

Same argument for Prime, at £80 a year, 365 series/film a year is 22p per item, but you get all the other benefits with Amazon Prime, not just the video service (the books, the music, the wardrobe, household, free next day delivery), so that can be even better value.

If you're not going to watch any of it then why would you set up a streaming service subscription?
