Easyjet require FFP2 mask for Italy

I fly 0620 Tuesday and just had a text from Easyjet saying I need a FFP2 mask to fly and that surgical or cloth masks are not acceptable. V poor giving short notice on a bank holiday weekend. Been to Tesco pharmacy and coop and neither have them, Tesco even said they had no idea where I'd get one, probably have to spend a couple of hours travelling into city centre to find somewhere that has one (and I bet you can't just buy one).

Tesco Pharmacy are 'proper' chemists! Wouldn't get them from Amazon in time that's why it's so annoying to be told so late in the day. Only option is a £10 taxi and £7.10 trainfare and minimum of 3 hours on a bank holiday to the most convenient Boots where if they have them in stock they are £9.99 for a pack of 5.

They have destination-specific Covid guidance on their website and a clear mask policy that also explains this, did they not direct you to check all this sort of stuff when booking?

    https://www.easyjet.com/en/help/covid-19-faqs/mask-guidelines

    Mask Guidelines

Do I need to wear a mask?

Many of the countries we fly to still require that masks are worn, and you may need one at the airport, at the gate and during your flight. Masks are only optional on a small number of our routes, as shown below, but we'll continue to review and update this list when destination requirements change.

All flights to, from and within – Italy, Austria and Germany

All passengers aged 6 and over are required to wear a FFP2 when they fly.

    [...]

As it's a national rule rather than an EasyJet one, it's also highlighted in the FCO travel guidance at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/italy/entry-requirements#entry-rules-in-response-to-coronavirus-covid-19
All passengers entering Italy by plane, ferry, train or coach must wear an FFP2 mask in order to enter the country.

You will likely be able to purchase these at the airport - from Boots/ WHSmith / Pharmacy .

Which airport is it that you fly from ?

A quick internet search will bring up the store’s phone number and opening hours and you can phone ahead to check that they sell them .

I have just gone to Boots website &  they have them in stock at all their stores at Gatwick airport both terminals before and after security. If it’s another airport you are flying from you can check here :

thanks but i can't leave it til the airport, the security queues at Manchester are mad and the Easyjet have told me to get there at least 2.5 hrs before departure but their bag drop doesn't open til 2 hrs before departure  so it'll be touch and go to catch the plane before boarding closes 30 mins before departure
