ROYAL MAIL COMPENSATION LEVELS

I think that's probably what they meant and just didn't quite specify. Until I came to this forum I didn't realise either, always thought of it as a different level of service rather than an actual different product.Pollycat said:That's what I see too
I'm not sure what the OP means about 'just takes a few more clicks to find'.
The compensation for 2nd class small parcel has been £20.00 for ages with no option to upgrade the compensation unless you choose a different product. e.g. small parcel signed for.0 -
I never said it had changed from £20......plus the desktop website has changed form last week and takes a couple of clicks more to see all optionsPollycat said:That's what I see too

Please elaborate on the changes you allege have changed.
Links would be good.0 -
Not alleged.....they have changed it...please try and keep upPollycat said:Please elaborate on the changes you allege have changed.

Last week if you clicked small parcel any weight it gave the option on same page to chooses £20 £50 signed for etc....now its a couple more clicks and not as clear straight away what level of compensation is
As I have already said the website has been changed / updated for windows since last week0 -
I use that service for non eBay items and the only change is that on one page they now rather sneakily show all the expensive options first with a link to ‘more services’ for the cheaper options. A few weeks back they used to show standard parcels first and only then go onto signed for and special delivery. Unless you click the ‘see more services’ link someone unsure of prices could easily end up paying for an expensive upgraded service they don’t need.grandadgolfer said:

As I have already said the website has been changed / updated for windows since last weekIt was as suggested merely a misunderstanding of what you were seeing, there has never been an option to choose comp levels on a standard parcels .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm not the only poster who has found your posts confusing.
I looked at that link and think it's sneaky too.soolin said:

I don't buy postage online.
I'm always very clear about what service I want and understand what the compensation levels are attached to the service I'm using.0 -
OP is correct that the send.royalmail site has changed a fair bit.It chops and changes a bit so they might be testing or still rolling it out. What is interesting is that for business accounts Royal Mail want you to declare the exact weight (rather than a random one that doesn’t match the parcel but does match the bill) yet they’ve changed the site above into weight bands rather than you entering a specific weight. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Pollycat the saving by using online postage for parcels is quite large, on a standard 2nd class small parcel it is 50p cheaper and I think it is £1 cheaper for medium parcels.Pollycat said:

The OP didn't specify. Just
It took until page 2 to get a link.grandadgolfer said:Is it just me or have the different levels of compensation disappeared off the RM site.......last week I was able to choose small parcel with free cover for £20 or increase to £50 £100 etc for a small increase but now all services don't show that option
I use the 'Royal Mail site' to check prices/weights/compensation levels.

I understand the savings when buying online as opposed to in the Post Office.
I don't sell a lot of stuff so I do what suits me.
I appreciate that you have a very different sales profile to me.
