Question about energy credit rebate and my council.

Liverpool City Council policy - interesting first mention of application for those without internet access - who tend to be, generally, older, overlooked and unfairly categorised as 'Luddites'.
We are starting to pay the rebate to households in May.
When and how you receive your rebate depends on how you pay Council Tax:
Direct Debit households
If you are one of more than 110,000 households that pay by Direct Debit, you do not need to do anything – you will be paid a rebate during the month of May, although we can’t say exactly when because we are processing the payments in batches.
Other households
Look out for the letter from the council coming through your door from later in May explaining how you can apply online. We will be putting in place alternative procedures for people without internet access.

The info. on my council's website says when the payments should be received relates to the regular council tax payment date, meaning in my case I should get the payment on 12 May.0

£150 energy rebate received into bank today from Leeds CC. Not bad for a non DD application.0

£150 received from Durham CC yesterday. I pay my council tax via DD and got this rebate direct into my bank account without going through any application process.0

I don't pay by DD, so today had this letter from Thurrock Council.
As your property is within Council Tax band A-D you have been identified as being potentially eligible for a Council Tax energy rebate payment of £150.
Unfortunately, we do not have any bank details set up on your account.
Should you wish to receive this payment, you must provide your details online.
Just laughing at the wording, that I'm potentially eligible and should I wish to receive the payment.0 -
I haven't received the rebate yet and it will be interesting to see if it gets paid automatically or not.
I was living in an eligible property on the 1st April but moved a few days later to an ineligible property. The guidance is clear that the eligibility is measured at the 1st April so I should be eligible, but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it without chasing it up.0 -

Beware of this rebate scam, as mentioned in the MSE News section

I cannot help but wonder how many of the £150 rebates will be put into ‘piggy banks’ to offset future bills given that actual monthly energy costs are seasonally low at the moment?1
