A credit amount of 3000£ is very unusual, what was you monthly direct debit and what have you used in energy per year?
Did you give regular meter readings to EON? Did you give them a final reading, you are saying they should have gotten it from BG? Were your bills based on estimated readings?
It sounds at the moment as if they have calculated the final bill from the first real meter reading and worked from estimates before.1 -
Thanks for this.
I was transferred to Eon Next from Eon in April 2021.
My monthly payments were £34 by direct debit.
In May 2021 they increased the amount to £60.
Thanks to Martin's post this morning I checked - I'm now £175.17 in credit!!!
Have just emailed them.
I understood that if one was in credit over £100 the balance had to be paid back. Is this correct?0 -

I understood that if one was in credit over £100 the balance had to be paid back. Is this correct? No, as they'll typically say you are building credit for the winter period. But typically if you are more than at least 2 months credit in your account, you could apply for a refund, so you could ask for £50 back.If you don't like the system you can also ask for a variable direct debit in which they set the DD each month to the actual amount of energy used, so in the winter it'll be more than in summer for example.2 -
60 pm and 3k credit! That's 4 years wroth of DD's to make that credit figure! Something smell funny as that looks unlikely!

It makes more sense to open your own topic, people will get confused otherwise. When was you last bill from EON, and more important do you submit regular meter readings or are they working from estimated use?0 -

You did not pay £239, you had a debit order for this amount, what do your bills say what did you use? And very important are the bills estimates or did you submit regular readings?
