Google Pay - Halifax Issues
Comments
-
Ive called Halifax numerous times, and most of the time they played the blame game to google pay. However, one occasion i called and I believe this is the truth but i am not certain. The technical team told me it was due to some new regulation that all merchants have done and as a result all card companies/google pay were compiling with these new regs. For some reason the link that google pay uses for Halifax was not secure and therefore everytime we typed in the CVC number or tried to use it, it would be rejected. Something to do with the gateway link etc etc.
Anyway, they said Halifax are working with google pay to get this resolved and it will resolve soon.
I guess the resolved it as you can now type in your CVC number in google pay to update your card and it will work. You will not get the error message anymore. Ive also tried using it online and it works via google pay.2 -
I've been pulling teeth and my hair out with Google Support over this issue, as they had no clue - kept saying I needed to contact Halifax, even when I said I had. REALLY frustrating service from them, with no recourse and no means of escalation. I'm inclined to agree with the Halifax tech, though no idea if it should be Google or Halifax that provide the secure gateway link or associate it with the Google Pay verification process, but at least Halifax knew what the problem was with regard to the Google product.xlnc99 said:Ive called Halifax numerous times, and most of the time they played the blame game to google pay.
