My fix (£75 a month - which I will really miss!) ends at the end of the month. Would this be worth switching to? I think it has a £0 exit fee.
A week ago, we'd have said no; we were expecting the SVT to be cheaper than that through the winter.
In light of today's updated forecasts, Loyal Octopus July 2022 v2 might be worth taking after all.

Oh poop.  Do we have a breakdown of the new estimated rates?
No detail yet, but this from Saint Martin of Lewis:

    N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.

Thanks - I was thinking (unfortunately) the same based on the predictions this evening.

What has annoyed me is I was being given Co-op Energy loyalty rates (I moved over from Co-op to Octopus several years ago). I saw tonight that these were higher than the Octopus-branded rates. When I queried it, they confirmed Co-op rates are higher than Octopus ones (despite my impression being there was no difference and it was all just one company now).

I would recommend anyone on the old legacy Co-op Energy rates checking/querying this!

[I’m also kicking myself because I was offered a fix £25 a month cheaper a couple of weeks ago, but missed accepting it by 24H before it jumped up!]

Thanks, I should have been more specific though as I meant unit rates - my fault entirely for missing out the vital word!

Blimey, just seen that Eon Next 1 Year v17 has replaced v16 overnight and electricity per kWh in my region rises in one go from 62.51p to 72.85p. Gas up from 15.38p to 17.88p. (all direct debit version)

Admittedly this is Eon Next's expensive tariff and there's the cheaper option for existing customers (Next Online v17) which hasn't changed yet, but if one has gone up by that much, the other one can't be far behind.

What are people's thoughts on e'on next 1 year fixed 17 in light of current events?

    I've been quoted:

    Gas
    SC 27.22p
    Unit 13p

    Electricity
    SC 51.63p
    Unit 51.28p

E'on estimated £1170 a year based on last year's usage however my boiler was broken for a large chunk of that so my gas usage will be higher this coming year.

My general thought on all the questions here is that if you have a offer for a tariff you think that is worth considering take it immediately (if they offer a cool off).

After you have secured the tariff you can start looking into the details and ask questions.

It is more than likely that fixed tariff you are considering might be gone in a day or two. So secure the tariff now and ask the questions in the two week cool off!
