E.ONnext Next Loyalty 24M Fixed Rate - June 2022 Issue 2
Monthly cost £106.28
Electricity Gas
Daily standing charge 42.24p 27.22p
Unit rate 40.60p per kWh 10.38p per kWh
Assumed annual usage 1,320kWh 4,681kWh
Estimated annual cost £690.18 £585.34---It is a two year fix but, crucially, it has no exit fees.Does that look like a decent deal that I should accept based on the current horror stories regarding the October estimate, bearing in mind that the £400 rebate should lessen the blow, somewhat?Yes, it is a hidden one for us e.on customers.Based on Mstty's helpful reply earlier, I may accept the deal before it disappears possibly tomorrow or later this week.I had a chance to accept the e.on Next v14 that was a bit cheaper after my fixed deal from last year ended in June, but this current e.on customer only deal is only a bit more expensive that that one, going by the annual estimate based on my usage.I also wanted to take advantage of the e.on Next Flex variable rate for as long possible up to October, but after a month it now looks risky.Done.Don't like paying the extra £25 + per month on the already hideous variable rate, but I suppose in October I may feel better about it, although none of us should have to put up with these price rises.1 -
I'm trying to quote you quote you guys but apparently I haven't been here long enough haha
Octupus say this about their agile at the moment:You need to know this 👇
October 2021 update:
Agile's half-hourly pricing exposes customers to wholesale market rates. Over the past few years, this has enabled customers to save significantly compared to a standard tariff, but right now, Agile prices are consistently high.
Most homes will be better off staying on a standard fixed or variable tariff right now
Is this to keep me from saving money lol

With the cap on these products it wasn't going to be long before they closed and they may well have a maximum number of people they are willing to have on these products.
I suspect they are close to making the decisions to release Agile V2 and Tracker v4
Someone else was discouraged from Agile but pushed on and signed up. What that statement means is the price is hitting the cap of 35p and will continue to do so.0 -

See the date? October 2021. At that time Agile was continuously at its cap of 35p/kWh but the SVT was 21p/kWh. Even in hindsight, Joining Agile in October 2021 would have been a bad idea for almost everyone. In the nine months since they wrote that, the SVT has risen to 28p/kWh while the Agile cap hasn't moved. In the next three months the SVT is expected to overtake Agile. Today, it's beginning to look attractive to quite a few people.N. Hampshire, he/him. Morning all
Yes, I called Octopus last week and started my switch away from Shell (who currently only have one tariff - Flexible 7) which is cheaper for me now but not come October.
I made it clear that my reason for switching was so I could have Agile Feb 2018 for electric and Tracker V3 for gas. When you switch you need to go onto Octopus variable until they can sort out your half hourly readings for Agile. I have Smets2 meters installed in my new build by British Gas in Dec 21 which I hope will be OK.My online account is set up and I have confirmation that the switch is in progress with Electric to be complete by 26th July & Gas 28th July.BUT
I too am worrying that the above versions will change or disappear before my switch is complete so I emailed Octopus and the reply was, I will be with them by 28th July and I will be able to move onto other tariffs if available!!
Now I wondering if I should use my cooling off period before that ends and switch to GEUK Sparkling Tariff.0 -

For bigger savings on electricity Agile and roughly same price for gas as GEUK tracker v3
Is that 4-5p saving on Agile and the SC savings worth the wait til you are switched and sending half hourlys?
I don't know it's down to the individual0 -
You should take one other future risk into account.
Green Energy UK is not cap regulated. When you come off the cap in 15 months you go onto a flexible tariff that might be much higher than a cap regulated SVT. Add to that the current problems to change to a SVT with another supplier and there is a potential problem.
I don't hope we will this situation still in 15 months, but it is at least worth thinking about when you consider the fixed tariff.

Thank you Mstty
I understand that Octopus can’t start me on the Agile tariff because of the half hourly readings required but why can’t they start me on tracker for gas?In the past when switching I’ve always gone straight to the tariff I wanted, usually fixed, none of this variable first malarky!!! Or why not guarantee on the day you sign up that once switch is complete your tariff will be Agile Feb 2018 electric & Tracker V3 gas?
Its so frustrating.
You are right Mstty if I want certainty then GEUK fixed is it.0 -
Been on Octopus go since August 2021 . (Gas also with them but luckily fixed until August 2023).
Here is what my renewal looks like for electricity:Your current Octopus Go prices
Peak unit rate: 15.18p / kWh
Off-peak unit rate: 5.00p / kWh
Standing charge: 25.00p / day
Estimated annual cost (electricity only): £1,611.44
We've based your estimate on your historical half-hourly usage pattern - that's 8,887 kWh during Octopus Go peak times and 3,419 kWh during Octopus Go off-peak times.Your new Octopus Go prices
Peak unit rate: 38.82p / kWh
Off-peak unit rate: 7.50p / kWh
Standing charge: 48.26p / day
Estimated annual cost (electricity only): £3,882.42Flexible Octopus prices
Peak unit rate: 29.06p / kWh
Off-peak unit rate: 21.54p / kWh
Standing charge: 48.34p / day
I have gone ahead and renewed as the Flexible prices do not include the October increase yet...
Now figuring out how to run waher , dishwasher and dryer in the middle of the night !!
Plus need to get that 8887 kWh down ... yes I know its very high !
The 3419 off peak is mainly charging my electric car.0
