I’ve head the exact same offer from EON. One thing worth bearing in mind is the fix has no exit fees, although I’m still in two minds. My consumption is less than yours, around 5,000 electricity and 600 gas.

Currently on 19.45p/kWh 19.92/Day (which equates to around £1200pa) from last October and have just received the renewal letter. Unhelpfully it doesn't give rates. Only two options:

    1. Move to SVR with projected 12 month costs being £2,240.47
    2. Fix for 1 year, no exit fees projected 12 month cost £4,650.90 (1 Year Smooth Renew v20)

Current deal runs out on 5th Oct. The above figures were using actual usage from last 12 months of 7,519 kWh

    What option would you do?
I put the figures into the MSE should I fix and it said strongly worth considering so we’ve switched to the fix as with no exit fees can ditch it if the price cap doesn’t rise as expected.

Btw if this is sainsburys it does show rates when you log in but when outing it’s into to mse you need to use the new SVR tariff and not your fix
  • Had renewal quote from Sainsburys to go onto Smooth v20 from 3/10/22.

Put figures into the MSE calculator and it says it’s too high to switch but it seems similar to others on here?  Going from £120pm to £377pm?

No exit fees so wondering if I should just fix now anyway in case they pull this ‘deal’?

The (very generic) opinion is yes, take it and see what's announced on Friday.

I've taken the EON Next Online v19 (12 month fix), effective from 02/10/22.

    Electricity:
    59.42 p/kWh 48.53 p/day

    Gas:
    15.03 p/kWh 27.22 p/day

    Currently paying:

    Electricity:
    19.21 p/kWh 18.33 p/day

    Gas:
    3.77 p/kWh 17.63 p/day

Given the predictions for January and April and the fact it doesn't have an exit charge it seems a no-brainer.

I got offered EON Next v.21 today so looks like the v.19 has already been pulled. The costs are below its more than 130%!! over so Martin’s price calculator says I shouldn’t take it. Should I risk the SVT or take this in case it goes up?
    Electricity
    Daily standing charge54.10p
    Unit rate84.17p per kWh
    Assumed annual5,218kWh

    Gas
    Daily standing charge32.03p
    Unit rate21.01p per kWh

We agreed this one as well this morning after 24 hours deliberating... feels it gives us some certainty in these uncertain times.

Did you get a deferred start date of 2/10/2022 like Leew89 ?
06/10 as that's when my current fix ends.
