You weren’t formally sent notification, you happened to catch the website between updates. That may be different (which is what I’m trying to establish). There is legal precedent for “mistakes” not being upheld but it sounds like yours was a temporary state.

I would say if you saw that the return flight is cancelled on your own, personal login page, that you could reasonably make the assumption it is cancelled at that point and amend or cancel your arrangements.
