id say they were wrong to rely on information that was never communicated to them (and they got checkin emails), but maybe that’s harsh?
It really made no difference in the end as it was the return flight this applies to and as we couldn't get there when the outbound flight was cancelled, it wasn't like we'd have been able to use it. It was communicated to me, in that it was on my login page, where my flights were listed (with wording something like "we are sorry that your flight has been cancelled), it was just never sent to me in an email.
It could make a difference as to whether you are entitled to compensation (which is why I’m asking).
You weren’t formally sent notification, you happened to catch the website between updates. That may be different (which is what I’m trying to establish). There is legal precedent for “mistakes” not being upheld but it sounds like yours was a temporary state.

    have you any updates?

Do you have legal cover on your home insurance?

I have no updates - I've been too busy to do anything else about this to be honest, but will probably just claim on the insurance now. Its too much of a grey area.

I would say if you saw that the return flight is cancelled on your own, personal login page, that you could reasonably make the assumption it is cancelled at that point and amend or cancel your arrangements.
