chase Bank, app not available

I've a Samsung Galaxy A10 running Android 11 (more than the 8.0 required) but when you try to download the app it states that the phone is not acceptable.
I've tried their customer support who seem indifferent, no useful advice, basically, change your phone is the view expressed.
Seems ridiculous, my phone is more than good enough for Lloyds, Nationwide, Virgin, Paypal, M&S so it sort of suggests their app is at fault, not my phone.
Surely MSE should investigate these limitations BEFORE making offers that are not going to be available to many!

    Chased their support
Answer as they've given to SO MANY critical reviews
"If you do have a compatible device in future we would love to welcome you as a customer."
Seems they don't want customers unless they use the latest, top of the range mobiles.

Hi @Diggle123 - although the chase interest rates are of interest to this part of the forum you may get a better response in the tech forum.  Personally I hate it when people claim compatibility back to an earlier version but then that's not really true!!.

Older versions are a bit riskier though as they will lose attention and security updates will be slower.  could you consider an upgrade to your version and then you could use chase

I have cut and paste this from another link on chase - you may find some company, but I think the answer will be the same

There are about 5  threads on this forum about the Chase account , one has over 500 posts .

I doubt they are trying to limit take up , as they are advertising on TV . I am afraid if a new app is launched that is expected to have  a good fast user interface , then it is inevitably going to be based on the latest operating systems .

I suspect most over 50s will also have older iPhones and therefore be unable to take advantage of this top saving product. My trusty iPhone 6 is on iOS 12.5.5 and it can't be further updated but, until now, it has done everything I wanted it to do.
Nobody is going to spend a couple of hundred pounds buying a "better" phone just to get a Chase account, which would more than cancel out the extra interest.

Iphone 6 operating system can not be updated to the next IOS but it still receives updates . However one day , it will slowly become obsolete. Probably before then it will stop working properly anyway , as they do not last forever.
On the other side an upgrade to a better i phone will cost more than a coupe of hundred pounds , even if you don't go for a new/latest one .
Maybe take comfort in the fact that this market leading rate will not last forever . Once they have hit their target of new customers , it will drift back towards the norm.

Been discussed in many threads now.

You need to be running 8.1 or higher and the 64Bit version of Android. Many Samsung devices are running the 32bit OS even on 64bit processors. This is most likely your issue.

It’s partly to do with the phones processor, as well as the Android build that the phone’s running. Better thread already here with plenty of info.

My phone’s a 3 year old OnePlus 6T and has no problems running the Chase UK  banking  app.

Even if people upgrade their phone, it means in a few years, that phone may be outdated too.

    How is that saving money?

I am someone who buys used flagship smartphones. My current one was £600 new, but bought for £300. I upgrade when needed. Smartphones are delicate like vases when the screen breaks.

If there is a problem with their banking app, are people going to argue with their phones? Where do they go?

Now that high street banks send verification codes for online transactions, those without a phone are further inconvenienced by "improved" security.

Choice, choice, choice - everybody has a choice to hang on to old tech or to upgrade - BUT - if you hangon to your comfortable old tech you need to accept the consequences.  No change there then from when man invented fire and the wheel.
