That’s it @joedenise that’s where I saw it too! Sorry for the confusion @elsiepac
@Soontobeoap your comment about the dogs business made me chuckle.I’m off to the shops today with a list, created from having meal planned for 2 weeks, however like someone else mentioned (although it must be in the April thread as I can’t find it here) I do want a little variety so I will be adding a few extras to the list.Hub bought some very very expensive rib eye steaks yesterday (from his own pocket once I saw the price …. £30.95/kg and he bought a whopping 600g!) so they will give some special-ness to this weeks plan and maybe give him the meat fix he needs as next week JMs cooking on a bootstrap recipes which are all meat free make a HUGE appearance in our meal plans!Adding a few extra items also as I want to batch cook some meals for baby’s arrival, probably won’t require them until the last week of May onwards but it will have come from this months budget.Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

OH did the first big shop of the month yesterday.
£5.76 in the first shop on 4 litres of fizzy drink, 2 packs of 2 Portuguese custard tarts (YS - 10p per 2), 2 packs of dulce de leche croissants (YS - 10p per 2), a loaf of bread (YS - 10p), 4 brioche hot dog rolls (YS - 10p), a pretzel (YS - 10p), 2 scones (YS - 10p), vegan spaghetti and meatballs (YS - 30p), a fettuccine alfredo ready meal (YS - 40p), a pack of vegan "chicken" wings (YS - 41p) and a pack of katsu sauce.
£18.74 in next shop on 6 pints of milk, a bottle of washing up liquid, food bags, muesli, 40 dishwasher tablets, 1kg Greek yoghurt, 400g Cheddar, toothpaste, Quorn nuggets, stock cubes, a tin of tomatoes, a tin of baked beans, 3 bananas, 1 sweet potato and a Thai curry kit.
Most YS items have gone in the freezer.
Definitely feels like it's getting costly for not many items now.
Posted the main meal plan previously. Breakfasts will be yoghurt with muesli, banana or frozen berries, toast or croissants.
Lunches will be the YS ready meals, soup or rice. Cheese sandwiches/toasties also possible if wanted.
We have crisps, scones and the tarts for snacks or pudding.

I have already put more spends on my May budget!!! Saw yellow sticker joint of beef for less than half price. £7.51. Just couldn’t leave it in the shop. I Bought it to put in the freezer and it might not even get eaten this month. I may cut it into 2 smaller joints so that I can make a few pasty’s for allergy grandchildren when they come to stay at half term. They love them so it makes my life easy.🙂. DH came out with me today. First outing since he was struck down with the bug. He is not eating properly yet and fancied some fizzy coke and sweets🤦🏻♀️. So another £5.67 out of the budget and May has not even begun!!! Maybe the budget should have been set higher! I don’t think that I have got it right once yet but this forum does make me accountable and I have definitely cut my budget by at least £100 a month.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Hello all
I’d like to set my budget at £150 for May, please.
I’d ideally like to come in well under that, but I feel a bit low at the moment, both healthwise and mentally, so I’m not really looking to challenge myself too much this month. I’ll be happy just to be fairly sensible, and not overspend too much. The cupboards are fairly full, and the freezer is packed. I’d really like to run down the freezer this month, using a lot of meat and fish so I can freeze a lot of veg instead.
It really does seem that my cash is not stretching as far nowadays, but I know I am lucky to have work and a warm home so I am trying to focus on that. What a difficult time we are all living through though!2025 goals

Savings: save £6K (or move house)

Morning!
Yesterday was my day 1 and I spent £9.40 of my £360 budget for the month which is for 1 adult and 2 children aged 15 and 14 and includes all eating out.
I haven't done a big shop for a long time - I live across the road from Asda, so I go in everyday, which must stop if I'm going to be successful this month.
However, I managed to get 3 days meals out of the £9.40 spend, plus bread which should last the week!May Grocery Challenge - 1 adult, 2 teenagers - £115.22/£360.0010 -
I'm setting budget for £300 for May please
For two adults May 1st - 31st. Includes all meals and food for 2 x kittens. Will include any alcohol for drinking at home/with meals. Not including takeaways/eating out which is a separate budget and we very very rarely do. Also doesn't include household cleaning products which is a separate budget line and we tend to use natural products and everything else is bought in bulk. Ideally I need to come in under that but trying to be realistic given limitations and lack of habit and illness recently. We've had an extra and dependant young adult living with us for 10 months - who eats * a lot*, has been here for all meals. Now that is coming to an end, we need to reign in grocery spending, to make up for the extra pressure of supporting another adult, and getting back into the habit of frugal cooking and planning for 2. Should be doable, as we mainly eat vegetarian. But do have a local farm veg/fruit box (though it's mostly veg right now) to try to avoid pesticides and support local farming economy. £35 a week. Also have fruit in freezer, and quite a lot of random tins and store cupboard things. So hopefully, given hectic lifestyle of both of us & slow cooker, it's actually really doable.Monthly Challenges| March Grocery Challenge - £255/£330 | Make £10 a Day - £112/£310
