elsiepac - you are doing such a sterling job organising the threads - THANK YOU 👍👏
Our budget will be £100 for May (1st - 31st)
I did dither about setting this uber-frugal budget for a 3rd month. As it's proving so hard this month. But if (and it's a huge IF, frankly), I manage it, or get somewhere near, then we should just about have worked through the effects of covid-impacting wages to SSP 🙁 and therefore may well be somewhere back on track. However, going forward, who knows what the budget will have to be, as prices are just going in one direction.
Thank heavens for the support of the GC challenge thread each month......

@Greying_Pilgrim, I take my hat off to you; that's hard. Hoping you will be able to relax a bit soon on the budget front.
May's a 5-weekend month for us so I'll aim for£550
please, to feed 5 adults fulltime, plus one extra 3 nights (sometimes more) a week, and visiting family & friends at weekends.
Getting harder...

£125 it is!
So, I've had a year away. Emergency surgery on April 13th last year, diabetes diagnosis, then cancer diagnosis. I haven't worked for a year and spent much of the year being looked after by my wonderful dad. I'm home now and back to work on 9th May. New job, hybrid, so got to work out commuting costs, swimming pool costs etc. I have done shopping in the year but I've to get my head round current prices and a low carb diet. I was managing quite easily before on £125 so that's my starting point. Crisps, chocolate and fruit off the menu and loads of veggies on. New routines etc. Don't yet know what my pay date will be so I'll stick with the calendar month. Thanks to Elsiepac for all the work

Thanks for the new thread @elsiepac, I'll definitely be bookmarking it to make it easier to find.
A big, friendly welcome to anyone new or returning and hugs to those who are soldiering on with tiny budgets.
There are four Wednesdays in May so could you put me down for£124 for the month to feed one vegetarian adult and cover household bits and basic toiletries too plus £20 for Baking.
It's definitely getting more expensive by the week here so I'm trying to use up what I've got in the cupboards and freezer before I buy anything fresh but I can see the time coming when I'll have to increase my budget or change where I shop which is worrying.7 -
I've come over even though my May challenge doesn't start til the 13th technically. Once April has ended shall I post in May or stay in April?

I’d like to try for £200 for the month plus another £100 for a big stock up shop as last month. My stores have been depleting so might be a bit of a challenge! It covers two adults and two little uns for food, cleaning products etc. Eating out is a separate budget, but we rarely do that anyway.
My total budget for the month is £300.

Thankyou Elsiepac for running this thread. It helps to keep me accountable plus so enlightening to see what I spend my hard earned cash on!
Plus so interesting to share foodie ideas with like minded folk.
Please enter me for £200 for 1st to 31st May.
That's all food, toiletries and cleaning products for 2 adults, breakfast lunch and dinner. Does not include the odd meal out as that comes out of a different budget, and does not include takeaways as we never have them.5 -
