Hermes/Evri problems

Hermes/Evri have lost another of my parcels.  I have made a claim but they won't compensate because the contents were fragile, (eyewear/glasses in an indestructible glasses case), and were on their banned list.  They claim fragility but in reality the package was just lost/stolen/misplaced, not damaged.  I reckon the package never got out of the depositing corner shop.  I now filter my online shopping so as not to buy if Hermes are the courier.  My local, regular Hermes delivery guy says the package losses Hermes suffer is astronomical, most being stolen and that many local delivery acceptance points are now refusing to collect on behalf of Hermes because they have not been paid by them for a long time.

By far the best courier/delivery guys are the good old Royal Mail.

Cheers.  Mick.

To be fair. You can't expect them to refund you when you are sending a banned item.

I can only speak as I find but our Hermes delivery has never failed.  I haven't used it to send anything, but if I did I would make sure the item wasn't on a banned list!
  • Might be wrong but at a glance it looks like glass items are on the excluded from damage compensation list rather than prohibited in the network?

If so they should cover for loss.

  • evri sent me a link for a claim form that does not work (oops page) does anyone have a link for it?
evri stopped replying when I told them this.
I could only contact evri via CEO email, they make it impossible to contact them otherwise.

    Sending items we don’t cover

There are some items we simply don’t cover. Unlike prohibited items, we can deliver these things, but remember – you send them at your own risk. If they’re lost, damaged or late we won’t be able to offer compensation. We’re also unable to compensate for any damage they might cause to other items in your parcel.

    Restricted items include:

    • Spectacles, lenses and optical equipment such as binoculars and telescopes. The same goes for cameras!

Interesting because when you view this link below (what you can and can't send) it clearly says the top list of fragile items is excluded from damage compensation implying lost is covered:

    https://www.evri.com/send/what-i-can-and-cannot-send

For each category below, you can find out about which items are:

Excluded from compensation – you can send them with us, but we can’t provide cover or compensation for them

    ....

When sending fragile items, you’ll need to make sure they’re packed securely to make sure they arrive at their destination in one piece. While you can send some fragile items with Evri, there are a few limitations to bear in mind.

    Excluded from damage compensation

Living in a rural area where there aren’t any big shops I buy many things online.  Well over half use Hermes/Evri and so far I’ve never had a single one going missing.  I’m wondering if different areas have different issues, we live in a very low crime area.
  • Evri have lost my parcel, could not find claim form on their website, raised a complaint through Resolver, they sent me a link to claim form which doesn’t work, does anyone have a link to Evri lost parcel claim form that actually works please?
