No, you appeal, as the NEWBIES thread says. No saying who was driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

But the sign in the pub does, according to your post and it says penalty? There is a defence point straight away, if you have to park, walk up to the sign to read it before deciding to stay or park elsewhere.rdw_06 said:The sign does not clearly state ‘penalty charge’ on it. It does say there is a charge, but you would have to physically go up to it read it, it is that small
Are you saying you parked there but did not visit the pub? OR did you park there, visit the pub but not see the "hidden" keypad?2 -
The driver was following satnav to find the bank, as they are not from that area and due to the location of the bank (right next to pub) and the way the road is mapped, with the location of the pub and the bank it was difficult for them to navigate where they needed to be and turned in not realising it was the pub car park until they received a ticket in the post. No didn’t visit the pub on that day.Le_Kirk said:

Well they are wrong about penalty charge but since it was probably written by the pub is of no import and doesn't help you or harm you. How long were you in the car park before you decided it was wrong and, having read the sings (such as they were), left to park elsewhere?2

Not necessarily, if this was detected by camera.
Could be it was two minutes, given the in and out ANPR cameras at these entrapment zones are not synchronised with each other.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, you are correct, the time stamp captured recording the back of the car already off their premises, half way up the road and on the main road and that is the point and time they have used. It is really shocking!!! The lengths they will go to make a living, for them every second counts.Coupon-mad said:Not necessarily, if this was detected by camera.

Go through the appeals phases so that, should it result in a court case, a Judge can see you followed the process in an attempt to resolve the issue. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks, the appeal was sent to them yesterday (unedited). I will keep you updated with the outcome.Umkomaas said:Go through the appeals phases so that, should it result in a court case, a Judge can see you followed the process in an attempt to resolve the issue. When we tried pleading with the pub owner he became aggressive in front of the customers in the bar. Saying ‘you got out the car, you got no chance of getting it cancelled’. The manager must believe people have ‘bionic eyes’ and can see through all sorts of obstructions. I asked him for his email address and he point blank refused to give it to me. He was not trying to resolve anything at this point. Not helpful at all. It is shameful, the lengths they will go to prove a point, but they are only letting themselves down with this kind of behaviour.0 -
Do you happen to know for sure that he owns the pub, rather than being a tenant?? If he is a tenant, I would be complaining to the Brewery. If he owns it, there is always Trustpilot, Tripadvisor and other review sites.rdw_06 said:

Regardless of the result of the PCN, I would not take HIS actions/aggression lying down !The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.2
