@Umkomaas Maybe VCS are waking up to how much money Elms is costing them and then deciding to try and lose less money?
I didn't even know PPCs employed people who could spell "Litigation" - they must have been gifted a copy of "My First Dictionary" for Christmas.4 -

I didn't even know PPCs employed people who could spell "Litigation" - they must have been gifted a copy of "My First Dictionary" for Christmas. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Elms charge about £125.00 plus VAT per hour. That was the rate in 2019 when I went to court. Many of the courts allocate two hours for the hearing. If there was a directions hearing initially that could tot up to around £375.00 plus VAT. Expensive even if they win and even more if they lose.

If the court has allocated two hours and the judge dismisses the case in 10 minutes Elms rep still gets paid for the two hours.

I think VCS will need a new calculator because they are offering a reduced settlement charge of £195, which is only £60 less than the actual claim of £255; usually they will offer to reduce the claim by the whole amount of the "fake" charges of £70.3

Maybe they 'only' added a fake £60. After all, the IPC only increased the 'fixed fee scam' cap to match the BPA, on 1st August.
One might be forgiven for suspecting price-fixing and cartel behaviour within the industry...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

(Of course £170 less £60 would mean £110, which is above the IPC limit but, given the P.O.C fails to give any breakdown as to the £170 is arrived at it's pure speculation, although it also includes interest even though the claim is for exactly £170.00).3 -
Hi Guys,
I sent my DQ form via email around 3 weeks ago and since then no news about the hearing date or any similar information. A bit worried about not missing a letter from the local county court.
Shall I go straight to the court and ask them as it is difficult to reach them by phone or wait longer?
Thank you.0 -

Does it confirm the case has been transferred to your local court?2 -

So, it doesn't even show that they receive my DQ. Although, I have an acknowledgment of it in my email.0
