Who’s eligible?
Households in council tax bands A-D will receive the £150 council tax rebate.
This means 4 out of 5 households in England will benefit, including around 95% of rented properties. However, second homes or empty properties will not benefit.

I got a mystery £150 in my bank account yesterday, which is the refund, as local social media is full of others reporting the same thing. My council is Walsall, it must have come from some offshore trust- there is certainly nothing to link the payment to themI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Is the forum soon to be full of "unknown £150 credit in my bank account" posts? 😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
So were half way through April and still no idea when this £150 will be in our accounts , I’ve been on my council website for latest news on this but it’s still just got the announcement from when first announced, funny how they don’t have any problems taking direct debit payment this month , good luck everyone,0

Is the forum soon to be full of "unknown £150 credit in my bank account" posts? 😉Actually, some social media posters said they had a text from the council saying that they have been paid and to click on a link.......A couple of foolhardy types have clicked on it and reckon it just says they have been paid.I've not got my 'phone number attached to my account, so I've not had one, seems a bit daft asking you to click on a link nowadays, when they could have just said "you've been paid, check your bank account, call us if you haven't"I checked my bank account again, the refund says "general account" , when they take the Poll Tax off me it says Walsall MBC, you'd think they could have set it up as Walsall MBC Refund.....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I think, as there are several dates within the month that you can make your payments, this will also stagger them in batches too, which is perhaps more manageable.0
