Council’s will keep that £150 in there banks as long as possible don’t worry about that , they will have a string of excuses lined up to ready to spill out I reckon first one will be it’s taking longer to up date system , if any one gets it before Easter let us all know0

What happens to those in scotland who pay less than £150 in council tax, do they also get less/no rebate? Thats the obvious flaw doing it that way instead of a refund.GaleSF63 said:
In Scotland it's incorporated into the council tax bill so no lump sum, just spread over the 10 (or 12) months of direct debits.Mstty said:The annoying little bit is we were planning around getting the £150 this month and sticking that in bonds then taking it out if needed in the winter months to top up the bill.
@MattMattMattUk - Ultrasonic is correct - the single person's discount doesn't affect the £150 payment.1 -
My local council:
"People who are eligible and pay their council tax by Direct Debit should have this paid directly into their bank account automatically. We expect to make these payments towards the end of April or during May 2022."Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
My council also expects to be paying DD payers during April & May. I can see why they are allowing themselves much longer for non-DD payers though. They are not set up for this & will presumably have to divert staff from their normal tasks, so whilst the government MAY refund them the £150 eventually they are going to want to be sure not to incur too much extra costs or next year we will be moaning about the increase in council tax when it is all down to the government. But that is governments normal behaviour to blame the council for something that the council have no control over.

The reason I asked that question was because the bill was in her partner's name, but she was paying it, I was wandering why she was not added to the bill, rather than just amending the Direct Debit to a different account when she moved in.Ultrasonic said:
My understanding is this doesn't make any difference to getting the £150?MattMattMattUK said:
However to check, is the council tax for the full amount, no single occupancy discount?1 -
"Payments
There will only be one payment per household regardless of the number of occupants.
Payments cannot be made until April 2022 and we have until 30th September 2022 to make payments.
The rebate will be paid on the assumption that the recipient is the person liable to pay council tax and that they meet the scheme criteria on 1 April 2022.
If this later appears not to be the case, the grant may be liable to recovery from the recipient."
The above copied from my Council. They also state that their system is still being set up to make the payments which they hope to complete by the end of April.
Oh, was that a flying pig just passed my house?

Our council's website said they will be contacted to arrange payment (doesn't say when).Chrysalis said:
