Chase bank

I'm just after some assurance from users of Chase Bank before I transfer my savings across. I've set up an account and am just a bit nervous.  Are they reputable and has anyone been with them long term.
My bank didn't recognise them as a payee when I went to set them up for a transfer. Many thanks.

Not in the UK, no, they've only operated here since last year.

Same for everyone, they haven't implemented Confirmation of Payee.

Since they started trading in the US in 1799, I think it's safe to assume that if they weren't reputable, they would have been found out by now...
The UK operation has the same £85K protection as anyone else trading with a UK banking licence.

For future reference; your bank recognising a sort code and account number says nothing about the reputation or stability etc of the bank the sort code belongs to. It merely says they are partaking in the Confirmation Of Payee process, and that the account number exists for the name you typed.

My bank has issues with the Chase Savings account details and rejected any attempt to pay into it. However, payments to the Chase current account work properly
  • Being nervous and then asking random strangers on the internet for their opinion?
  • Thanks for your help. Thought that's what forums were for. Advice and reassurance

As above, it is the same for everyone, they haven't implemented Confirmation of Payee (COP).

All COP participants allow you to override the COP check, so payments to the Chase UK accounts can be made from any UK current account.
