Samsung Washing Machine

I bought the Samsung series 5+ add wash in July 2021 direct from Samsung, at a cosy of £513. Now (April 2022) it has started to leak, very badly, from the bottom of the door. On inspection I can see a tiny tear in the seal. Samsung have refused to fix it as its not covered in the warranty. Its disappointing, paying over £500 for a washing machine 8 months ago that needs costly repairs already.
Is there anything I can do? I've escalated it with Samsung complaints but so far I've been told twice that they simply won't fix it

This should be in the Consumer Rights forum but they'll tell you the same thing there. After 6 month the onus is on you to prove that any fault is inherent to manufacture, rather than wear & tear or user damage etc. This sort of fault, is pretty typical of user inflicted damage, ie, putting sharp objects that can cut and tear door seals etc, so I'm not really surprised that Samsung are not covering it in their warranty.
Also, just to be clear, you're consumer rights are with the retailer rather than the manufacturer, who are only concerned with their supplied warranty.1 -
Price up the spare and get on YouTube for repair instructions.
That will be the quick way to get it fixed.

gefnew said:“The content of this section is based on the law applying in May 2013.”Afraid you’re linking out of date consumer articles.
Readers might like to try this one as although it’s 2015, it is about the relevant legislation Consumer Rights Act 2015Arch0 -
I've moved this thread to the Consumer Rights board where it might pick up even more replies. Thank you.0

OP - Ignore all the talk regarding the 'Sales of Goods Act', that's not relevant to you as for consumers it was mostly replaced with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.As it's over six months, the onus is on you to prove to the retailer that the fault was present when purchased but has only now failed due to that.(For example, the seal was not installed correctly etc) This is done via an independant report. Should the report find in your favour, the retailer has the option to repair, replace or refund. If a refund, they can deduct a % based on the use you have had. They will also have to refund the cost of the report.I would do as suggested above, see how much the seal costs and look on youtube.Who was the retailer?1
