I have been with EDF for a while.. 4, and be 5 years now. I have never had any problems with them till this recent increase in the amount of money that they take for the gas and electric.
When my previous fixed rate deal came to an end, I shopped around and this new deal followed on from the previous offer/deal with them.
Again: The original payments were more than adequate, no excessive use, I never had any form of shortfall .
The only reason for the price rise is/was because of the rise of the price cap.
My point is that from always being in credit, never a shortfall, why then now has the direct debit tripled, from £23.70 to £77.00..0 -
You are now saying gas and electricity, so two standing charges. I have come off a two year fixed with EDF in February, and that one already had SC of over 21p per day, so that is already over 12£ per month, leaving 11.50£ to build up your 200£ to 300£ credit. It will take 2 years to get to this credit without using any energy at all.
When EDF does the debit order review you should also get the bill.
What are the details on your bill for use, credit etc?

@pochase - likewise I just can't understand this - we are missing some info somewhere.
@mrplatypus Dave - can we have those annual consumptions please ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

It might just happen that your six-monthly review has come due.As others have asked, please tell us your Estimated Annual Consumption and details of your tariff. Without those details we can't help you.
More likely they have reviewed your usage over winter and determined your credit won't cover the next bill due. But if you give your usage and tariff people can work out if the DD increase is justified or not.4 -
@mrplatypus Dave - what are the letters after the bottom line figure of £300 ? Are they CR or no letters at all ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
