Our new fix is (V12) is due to start in a couple of weeks time, and our DD will increase to cover the next 12 months, on pretty accurate estimates (i'm not querying that).
However, at the end of our current fix, we will be in credit by about £250, as we've been overpaying our DD*
Just wondering if they'll let us have that back so we can start fresh at £0, or will they insist on having 2 DD's worth on account at all times, which would be just over that amount, until we've made a couple of new DD payments (with summer usage), so it needs to build up a credit, of say £500, then ask for £250 back.
*I don't want to reduce the DD, due to Santander cashback.
We have been with Eon for a number of years now and they credit the built up amount every year. Not sure what month they do this for everyone else but when I queried this with them they said if there is any credit on our account it will be refunded to our bank account every August. Our last credited amount was £12.
Not sure this will still happen now they are known as Eonnext. Just don't get me started on Eonnext because they are driving me nuts!!

We currently pay £20 a month but only use around £19 of electricity so that's where the £12 refund came from. I think it was last year we got that particular refund. Another year we were refunded £13ish. I suggested that I pay a DD of £19 a month and they said no I couldn't. I always thought that was rather odd, to be honest, but wasn't going to quibble over a £1 with them. I always thought the refund was pointless and why not just reduce my direct debit.
Like others on here, I was able to increase my direct debit online but wasn't allowed to lower it without contacting customer services.
